.,
Mr. Tallon Moved to motion Shirmer Construction, of 31350 Industrial Parkway be moved on to
The Architectural review board meeting Apri122, 98, the Board of zoning appeals meeting May 7,
1998, and that the variance for the open storage shed on the north east corner of the property as
well as the open storage shed on the north west of the warehouse, be granted their variances, the
30 ft. driveways be allowed, and to allow the gravel area. After Board of zoning appeals you will
come back to Planning Commissions on May 12, 1998. The uaotion was seconded by Brennan,
and unanimously approved
N. NEW DEVELOPMENTS AND SUBDIVISIONS:
A Underwood Lot Split and Assembly Plat No. 2
WITHDRAWN BY DEVELOPER UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. The proposal is to split off the north portion of land designated as Permanent Parcel Numbers
237-21-08 and 237-21-13 and 237-23-01, each of which fronts on the north side of Mastick
Road, and join these split offportions to adjacent land designated as permanent parcel numbers
237-21-01 and 237-23-33, with frontage on both Brookpark and Clague Roads (southwest
area). Also included is the combining of the south remnant of parce1237-23-01 with parce1237-
23-02, both of which have the same ownership and front on Mastick Road. Zoning is Multiple
Residence (north, Brookpark frontage) and A-Residence, Single (south, Mastick frontage), with
the lot splits coinciding with the district zone line. (Frontage of one proposed sublot, 3-Z, does
not conform to zoning code requ.irements for an A district, but is less non-conforming than
previously).
V. COMM[JNICATIONS:
Packet received from Safety Director Jenkins, on the preliminary proposal for a skateboard park.
Rae Ann Thomas a concemed citizen provided Planning commission with some literature which
was read by the Planning commission. Mrs. Thomas asked if any of the board members had any
questions about the proposal Mr. Tallon stated what about the noise that this type of facility
makes. Ms. Thomas stated I have done a lot of research and have personally gone to some of the
skate board parks in the area, one being Independence, another being Brookpark Ohio and the
medal which is being proposed is a smoother sound than wood, but there would be some noise
when they flap so maybe some consideration could be made by buffering the noise with
landscaping, let say it was at the Rec. Center behind the play ground that is north of the pool
wluch is fenced in already, this has been discussed for yeazs, and years, and years, I got in touch
with Officer Ken Burt in 1996 and he was trying to make a go with it by donations through
businesses only, I just think we need a different approach on some of these fund raisers and
hopefully some help from the city on this also, I don't want the park to just be given to the kids I
would like to see them help participate also, if you can see through the packet I have done a lot of
reseazch I have pictures of the other parks with me for you to see. Mrs. O'Rourke stated would
the insurance from the Rec. Center cover this through their liability insurance. Mrs. Thomas
stated my understanding would be the same as if you went to open skate or to play tennis you are
just using the facility. , Mr. Tallon stated we would have to have the service director try it out.
Mrs. Thomas stated I do have a copy of liability issues from 1996 from Mr. Dolansky. Mr.
Tallon asked if the park would be open at night. Mrs. Thomas stated the park would close with
