NEW DEVELOPMENTS AND SUBDIVISIONS: <br />A Underwood Lot Split and Assembly Plat No. 2 <br />WITHDRAWN BY DEVELOPER UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. The proposal is to split off the north portion of land designated as Permanent Parcel Numbers <br />237-21-08 and 237-21-13 and 237-23-01, each of which fronts on the north side of Mastick <br />Road, and join these split offportions to adjacent land designated as permanent parcel numbers <br />237-21-01 and 237-23-33, with frontage on both Brookpark and Clague Roads (southwest <br />area). Also included is the combining of the south remnant of parce1237-23-01 with parce1237- <br />23-02, both of which have the same ownership and front on Mastick Road. COMM[JNICATIONS: <br />Packet received from Safety Director Jenkins, on the preliminary proposal for a skateboard park. <br />Rae Ann Thomas a concemed citizen provided Planning commission with some literature which <br />was read by the Planning commission. Mrs. Thomas asked if any of the board members had any <br />questions about the proposal Mr. Tallon stated what about the noise that this type of facility <br />makes. Ms. Thomas stated I have done a lot of research and have personally gone to some of the <br />skate board parks in the area, one being Independence, another being Brookpark Ohio and the <br />medal which is being proposed is a smoother sound than wood, but there would be some noise <br />when they flap so maybe some consideration could be made by buffering the noise with <br />landscaping, let say it was at the Rec. Center behind the play ground that is north of the pool <br />wluch is fenced in already, this has been discussed for yeazs, and years, and years, I got in touch <br />with Officer Ken Burt in 1996 and he was trying to make a go with it by donations through <br />businesses only, I just think we need a different approach on some of these fund raisers and <br />hopefully some help from the city on this also, I don't want the park to just be given to the kids I <br />would like to see them help participate also, if you can see through the packet I have done a lot of <br />reseazch I have pictures of the other parks with me for you to see. Mrs. O'Rourke stated would <br />the insurance from the Rec. Center cover this through their liability insurance. Mrs. Thomas <br />stated my understanding would be the same as if you went to open skate or to play tennis you are <br />just using the facility. , Mr. Tallon stated we would have to have the service director try it out. <br />Mrs. Thomas stated I do have a copy of liability issues from 1996 from Mr. Dolansky.
