sit down and come to an agreement. Ms. Kopko stated we don't want to come back and do this
again since we have been through this once before and everyone wont's to have the brick match in
color. We will agree to match this brick as closely as we can. With the understandiug that when
we do phase two we are going to use a different color brick. Mr. Dillon introduced himself and
suggested you can't really see that side of the building from the street. We would like the phase
two building to match the lighter color of the other wing. Cou1d we make the brick color on the
back side of phase one match the brick color for phase twa Mr. Liggett strongly suggested it
should not be done. I don't feel that your phase two will end up the way you have it configured
now, because of today's codes. You need to research a lot of codes to configure a bu.ilding like
that. The fire department would not be able to get to any windows along that opening. Ms.
Kopko suggested phase two had been looked into and there would be no openings on that side of
phase two (2), it would just be used as a corridor. Mr. Zergott suggest since all three board
members are not present tonight we will not be able to vote on this issue tonight. Maybe we
could call a special meeting this week with you and the two architects and I will agree to what
ever the three of you come up with. Ms. Kopko if the church members and myself ineet and
decide to go with the same color of brick, can we just call and let you know, then the matter
would be settled. Mr. Liggett stated he would be happy to meet with M. Yager, the architects,
and the church representatives at his office.
B. Zergott motioned to table Ascension Lutheran Church of 28081 Lorain Road, until a private
meeting is held between Mr. Liggett, Mr. Yager, the architects, and representatives for
Ascension Lutheran Church. They will meet privately to decide the color of the brick for phase
one. The motion was seconded by T. Liggett and unanimously approved. Motion carried
Mr. Zergott stated we will be making a new motion for Ascension Lutheran Church,
28081 Lorain Road to read as follows:
T. Liggett motioned to except the request for the Architectural review board to recommend a new
brick color, as current brick color can not be fou.nd as submitted. With all three sides matching
the existing bu.ilding/wing and this has been agreed upon by the Church representatives. The brick
will be universal blend w/c which is a modular brick. The motion was seconded by B. Zergott and
unanimously approved. Motion Carried
1) Wellington Place Assisted Living)
Location is on the south side of Brookpark Road, west of Clague Road and north of Mastick
Road. Property fronts on Brookpark Road, Clague Road, and Mastick Road. Proposal to
construct senior housing facility. Referred by planuiug commission June 23, 1998.
Mr. Zergott stated before we get started on this case today the audience should know that we do
not deal with drainage issues. We are here to deal with the aesthetics of the property and the
building. There were issues that were brought up at the Planning Commission meetings that our
board can not address. If you are here to talk about trees or the color of the building or it's
shingles we would love to discuss it with you. When you speak give your name and please don't
be offended if we ask you to spell it out, "thank you".
