added. Although this proposed addition will be added to the rear, it will not extend past the variance that was
granted on 7/11/79. Special pernut required Ord. 90- 125, Section 1165.02(b). "
Chairnian Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was administered to Mr. Bosch. Mr.
Bosch presented the proposal. Mr. Gomersall read the Bosch's request for a special pernut. Mr.Gomersall
stated were you the one that got the variance in July of 1979. Mr. Bosch stated that he didn't lmow who did the
work in July of 1979, the new addition will not go past the July 1979 additiori that is there now. Mr. Gomersall
asked all board members if they had any comments on this request. No further comments were made.
Mr. Gomersall moved to grant Marge Russel 23249 Westchester, the special pernut to add to a non-conforming
dwelling. Special pernut required Ord. 90- 125, Section 1165.02(b). The motion was seconded by T. Kobema
and unanimously approved. Variance granted. 9. James L. McKnight: 3296 W. 231 St.
Request for Variance (1123.12). Request 15 foot variance for location of a 6 foot high fence in the side setback of
a comer lot. Fence would intrude into the required 25 foot setback. Also request an 87 square foot variance to
install a swirruning pool in back yard, as the area of all accessory structures will exceed 20% of the rear yard
area. Violation of ordinance 90-125 section(s) 1135.02 (F) (2) and 1135.02 (D) (2). Note: There is some
concern with obstruction.
Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was administered to Mr. McKnight.
Mr. Gomersall stated that he had a question on the request, you show the fence 10 fcet from were. Mr. McKnight
stated it was 10 feet from the sidewalk. Mr. Gomersall stated that is not going to intrude with anybody who's
houses will be along your fence. Mr. Conway stated that the inspector went to the property and suggested that
Mr. McKnight cut the comer off for visibility, cars baclang out will be unable to see people walking along the
sidewalk until it is to late. Mr. Conway suggested that Mr. McKnight make a 4 ft. angular cut on both ends. Mr.
McKnight stated I have no problem doing that. Mr. Conway staterl are you installing the fence yourself. Mr.
McKnight stated that he has hired Roland's fence to do the work, and he would no longea- need a 87 square foot
variance to install a swimming pool as the area will be within code now.
J. Maloney moved to grant James L. McKnight: 3296 W. 231 St.; a 15 foot variance for location of a 6 foot high
fence in the side setback of a comer lot. Fence would intrude into the required 25 foot setback. On condition that
the comer be angled so that visibility is not impaired and at the judgment of the building depattment. The motion
was seconded by R. Gomersall and unanimously approved. Yariance granted.
10. John McLouahlin 4098 Clague Road:
Request for Variance (1123.12). Request the following variances to construct a detached garage: A 7 ft. height
variance; an 18 square foot variance in excess of the maximum area permitted; and a variance to use second
floor of proposed garage for storage only. Also request variance to use gravel drive for a period of one year.
Violation of ordinance 90-125 section(s) 1135.02 (C1 & D3), 1115.04 (D), and 1161.11 (A).
Chainnan Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was administered to John
1VIcLoughlin. Mr. Gomersall stated you are requesting a variance to construct a detached garage; a 7 ft. height
variance; an 18 square foot variance in excess of the maximum area pernutted; and a variance to use second floor
of proposed garage for storage only. Also request variance to use gravel drive for a period of one year, this is not
a big deal your not going to put the drive-way in during the winter are you, I would tlunk you wouldn't put in a
drive-way after November would you. Mr. Mcloughlin stated that he really had no intention on putting in a drive-
way at all but was told that it is a requirement now. Mr. Gomersall stated that yes in dead it is a requirement to
have a paved drive-way. Mr. Mcloughlin stated that it would put a hardship on him at this time to put in a pavecl
drive-way and stated that Mr. Kettel said he could ask for an extension of time to put one in. Mr.Gomersall
stated that the board couldn't give Mr. McLoughlin a two year extension period. Mr. McLoughlin stated that he
has a gravel drive-way now and I don't see why that would make any difference after I put up the new garage.
