Mr. Yager commented that carrying the parapet <br />around the corner would also hide a roof top unit so it will be continued. Mr. Zergott <br />questioned what the traditional materials that were being used were. Mr. Yager <br />commented that the pre aged copper, the detail and the signage are all traditional to the <br />building. Mr. Geller reviewed that the design of the new facade is letting customers know <br />that they are both colonial and contemporary. Mr. Yager indicated that they would return <br />for signage. Ms. Schulz indicated that she liked the design of the building and asked what <br />the height of the split-face would be under the glass. Mr. Yager indicated that there would <br />be 2feet to handle to winter weather. Mr. Liggett questioned what type of glass would be <br />used. Mr. Yager indicated that there would be frames for the glass. Ms. Schulz questioned <br />the type of material being used to hold the canopy. Mr. Yager commented that it was a <br />lock-a-bond metal material and there will be a pitch to the canopy to allow the water to <br />drain behind the columns and into the drain line. <br />T. Liggett motioned to approve Fish Furniture of 23770 Lorain Road their proposal that <br />consists of Facade renovation, addition and board on board fencing to match existing fence <br />along Marty's Living Room rear property line. The canopy should be continued down the <br />west side of the building, to match the east side of the building. The board likes the sign as <br />it appears on the model and suggests that it be approved. The motion was seconded by C. <br />Allan. Roll call on the motion; K. Schulz, C. Allan, M. Yager and B. Zergott, "yes", M. <br />Yager, abstain from voting. Motion Carried. <br />4). Szarka Financial Management; 29691 Lorain Road: <br />Proposal consists of demolition of existing office & construction of new office. Note: The <br />• Planning Commission heard this proposal on October 12, 1999. <br />Chairman Zergott called all interested parties forward. Mr.Taylor, from Arkinetics, Ms. <br />Debbie Szarka, with and Mrs. Kuack with Szarka came forward to present their proposal. <br />Mr. Taylor indicated that the existing building would be removed as well as the garage and <br />a new two-story building will be erected in their place. The parking will be reconfigured <br />and at the Planning Commission it was requested that a loading zone be added so that has <br />been done. There will also be a landbanked parking areas which has been discussed with <br />Mr. Rymarczyk. Mr. Taylor at this time submitted a new plan that showed the changes. <br />The building will be all brick as was requested by the Planning Commission. The color of <br />the masonry will be a Mulberry brick. On the roof the color of the shingles will be <br />weathered wood, by new horizens. The aluminum will be a putty color used on the <br />window trims, the columns and shutters. Mr. Liggett questioned what color the headers <br />and seals would be. Mr. Taylor indicated they would be a sand stone color as well as pre- <br />cast units. Mr. Zergott questioned the lighting that would be used. Mr. Taylor indicated <br />that there would be 3 lamps that will be residential 120 watt 8 to 10 feet high. The light <br />poles will be plastic residential design group colonial series 112 black. Mr. Yager indicated <br />that the landscaping is done well and works with the brick. The Lorain road area should be <br />looked at to tie the two buildings together. There should be more landscaping in front of <br />the restaurant. Ms. Szarka indicated that there was new landscaping done 6 years ago in <br />front of the restaurant. Mr. Yager inquired about the parking spaces and the existing fence. <br />Ms. Szarka indicated that the City required the parking spaces as well as the fence be put in <br />• place. Mr. Yager suggested buffering the alc unit to protect it from the elements, and <br />suggested that landscaping could be used. <br />6
