Mr. Dickson suggested that it was a mistake it will only <br />be lfoot higher. <br />J. Maloney motioned to grant Donald & Francine Dickson of 5907 Columbia Rd. their <br />request for variance 1123.12 as amended. Which consists of an addition to existing <br />garage. The following variances are requested: <br />1. A 1.9 foot variance for side yard setback, (code requires 5ft applicant shows 3.3ft), <br />section (1135.02 D 4). <br />2. A 4.3 foot variance for height of garage, (code permits 15ft, applicant shows 19.3), <br />section (1135.02 C1). <br />3. A 1758 Square Foot variance for the size of garage, (code allows 750sq ft applicant <br />shows 2408 sq. ft), section (1135.02 C1). <br />4. A variance to construct an accessory building prior to the construction of the <br />permanent dwelling, section (1135.02). <br />NOTE: <br />A) Guest/summer home presently on parcel. <br />B) New configuration of garage would be 87sq ft smaller than present garage. <br />C) Other accessory structures include pool building 4743sq ft, and guesthouse 864sq ft. <br />D) The total lot is 61,855sq ft; total buildings are 8,015sq ft. This is a little less than 13% <br />lot coverage. <br />Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 sections, (1135.02 D 4), (1135.02 C1) and ( <br />1135.02). The motion was seconded by W. Kremzar and unanimously denied. Varaances <br />Denied. Note: After the motion was completed Mr. Dickinson questioned if they could <br />just raise the height of the existing garage. The board suggested that they talk to the <br />building department. <br />7. Angela Schafer; 5325 Porter Rd. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). The proposal consists of a detached garage. The <br />following variance is requested: <br />A 6 foot variance for rear yard setback, (code requires 10', applicant shows 4'. <br />NOTE: This proposal needs to be heard by the Landmarks Commission as it is located <br />within the historical district. <br />Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 section, (1135.02 D4). <br />Vice Chairman Maloney called al1 interested parties forward and reviewed the variance <br />requested. The oath was administered to Miss. Schafer, the owner and Mr. Soukup, Miss. <br />Schafers uncle, who came forward to review the request. Mr. Rymarczyk indicated that <br />the proposal would not need to go before The Landmarks Commission. NIr. Maloney <br />questioned if they would need to use firewalls on the garage. Mr. Rymarczyk indicated <br />"no", as they would be 3feet from the property line and as long as they do not have any <br />opening in the sidewall firewalls would not be required. Miss Scha£er indicated that there <br />would be glass block used on the side of the garage that would face the home. No further <br />comments were made. <br />W.
