e?
the applicants agree to put a structure up for outside storage and then the Board grants variances for
outside storage without a structure. Mr. Gareau indicated that the area is industrial and finds it hard to
believe that there is not going to be some kind of a truck or something where it is there temporarily. He
indicated that the spools are being broke down, put outside; then someone comes and picks them up and
brings in more full spools. Mr. Magyar indicated that the spools are placed outside until enough spools are
collected to have the spools picked up. Mr. Gomersall questioned why the spools couldn't be placed in the
building. Mr. Magyar indicated they tried, but now the area is overflowing. Mr. Gomersall questioned
why A& J Electric hadn't rented a fourth (4) space. Mr. Magyar indicated A& J would only be renting
three spaces. Mr. Gomersall commented that the spools are cheaper to keep outside. Mr. Magyar
indicated "yes". Mr. Kremzar questioned who delivers the spools and picks them up. Mr. Magyar
uidicated they are usually delivered from the cable companies that make the mass productions from New
York or Connecticut. Mr. Kremzar questioned who delivers the empty spools that need.to be stored
outside. Mr. Magyar indicated that the spools stored outside are the off product. He indicated the spools
that are stored outside are the ones that come in banged up or maybe the spools are shot. Mr. Gomersall
uidicated that the request was sent through the Plaiuvng Commission and the Architectural Review Board.
Mr. Maloney uldicated that Planning Corrunission and Architectural Review Board denied the request. Mr.
Gomersall indicated that on the papers, its shows the request was granted. Mr. Conway indicated that A
& J could have been send to five public hearings, but he thought it was unnecessary for a fenced enclosure.
He indicated there is a minor change method in the Code that gives him the authority to contact each boards
Chainnan and if they all agree to approve the minor change then A& J does not have to go through all the
meetings. He coinmented that he requested approval, but that the Chairmen should make comments as to
how each Chairman felt about a variance request. If the Chairmen had rejected the minor change, A& J
would have had to submit a proposal to go before all the Boards. Mr. Kremzar indicated that he had driven
b_y the site and the applicant had the spools stacked three spools high. Mr. Magyar indicated that the
largest spools total nine feet high and that is to accommodate A& J from going back much further. He
indicated the spools are being stacked where they. are now because in the present building they are
overcrowded. Mr. Kremzar suggested that if the business was going to be increased so would the munber
of spools in outside storage. Mr. Magyar indicated that they would fill the truck up faster when the
business increases so the spools would not be on site as long. Mr. Gomersall questioned if A& J were in
there new site yet. Mr. Magyar indicated "no". Mr. Gomersall questioned if A& J had made provisions at
the new site for storage. Mr. Magyar indicated that other than the yard which is there, A& J has not made
provisions. Mr. Gomersall questioned what quantity of bay area would be increased. Mr. Magyar
responded from a one bay area to a three bay area. Mr. Gomersall questioned if A& J were still going to
need outside storage space. Mr. Magyar indicated "yes". Mr. Gomersall commented that it didn't make
sense and questioned why A& J had not rented four bay space. He suggested that the Chairmen who
approved the minor change did not object, but they did not recommend the variance. He indicated that he
didn't want to start something by granting A& J a variance. Mr. Konold questioned if A& J owned the
building. Mr. Magyar indicated "no" that A& J was renting from Harsax. He indicated A& J has signed
a five year lease. Mr. Conway indicated that A& J could rent more bays if needed. NIr. Gareau
questioned how many employees would be added. Mr. Magyar indicated five are presently employed with
the addition there would be an additional 15 employees. Mr. Konold suggested looking into another bay.
Mr. Magyar indicated A& J will be moving from one bay to three bays. He indicated A& J already has a
layout done, they are just waiting for the outdoor storage variance. Mr. Gareau questioned what would
happen if the Board does not agree with the idea of outdoor storage. Mr. Magyar indicated that A& J was
looking at other facilities in Avon. Mr. Gareau questioned if A& J would abandon the site in North
Olmsted and move to Avon. Mr. Magyar indicated they would keep the one bay at the site in North
Olmsted and use it mainly for storage. He indicated that A& J can't get out of the lease with Harsax's for
three more years on the one bay but they have not signed a lease for the other bays yet. Mr. Konold
questioned if they could get out of the one-year lease now if they would. Mr. Magyar questioned if he
meant moving out of.North Olmsted or just out of the present site. Mr. Konold indicated out of North
Olmsted. Mr. Magyar indicated "no". Mr. Konold questioned whether A& J needed to be in North
Olmsted. Mr. Magyar indicated that A& J needs to be in the site for three more years. Mr. Gareau
7
