,,41-

Schumann then commented that this is an 1860-1900's Victorian, they would have been
brighter colors but this is a farmhouse which would have more earth tones.
Mr. Lang motioned that a certificate of appropriateness be issued to install foundation drip
and drip ledge near second floor, remove aluminum siding and replace rear wood
imperfections in siding and moldings to complete dental mold, paint colors to be selected
from preservation collection from Sherwin Williams. NIr. Barker moved that this motion be
approved. Mr. Srneraldi seconded the motion and was unanimously approved.
Dee Polar & Edna Sund: 25903 Butternut Ridge Rd.
Mr. Lang called forward Dee Polar and Edna Sund whom propose to build a deck. Dee Polar
introduced her contractor ponald Braseau. Mr. Lang commented that he would like Mr.
Braseau to describe the deck to the board. Mr. Braseau commented that it is pretty close to
the ground, only 8 inches above the ground. It only has a railing on a short section of it most
of it has a step to the yard in the back. Mr. Braseau added that it has a small bench on it. Ms.
Polar corrunented that her neighbor has a split rail fence, and at one point she had shrubs that
were overgrown and she took them down because they were not aesthetically pleasing to her
anymore. Mrs. VanAuken questioned if the deck would be visible from the street. Mr.
Barker questioned the location of the home. Ms. Polar replied that it is four houses east of
Canterbury. Mrs. VanAuken questioned how old the house is. Ms. Pblar replied it was built
in the 50's. Mr. Barker questioned if they were going to leave it natural, stain it, or paint it.
Ms. Polar replied that she would stain it to bring out more of the wood color. Mrs.
VanAuken questioned where the access to the deck is. Ms. Polar replied from the garage.
Mr. Lang motioned to issue a certificate of appropriateness to install a raised platform deck
to rear of house including a railing as shown. Mr. Corell moved the motion. Mr. Smeraldi
seconded the inotion. The board unanimously approved Dee Polar and Edna Sund.
Agnes Ellis: 25197 Butternut Ridae Rd
Mr. Lang called Agnes Ellis forward to review her proposal. No one came forward. Mr.
Barker commented that he drove by her house that evening and he looked at the roof and it
looks good. It is a red brick house with a gray roof and it looked like it was in good shape.
Mr. Lang coinmented that the building perinit calls for installing a roof as specified, work
done by M.R. Plank construction and replace siding and roofing.
Mr. Barker moved to table Agnes Ellis of 25197 Butternut Ridge Rd. due to her absence.
Ms. Lord seconded and was unanimously approved.
John Webb: 27010 Butternut Ridge Rd.
Mr. Lang called the Webb's forward to review their proposal of an out building. Mrs. Webb
pointed out to the board members the building that they are taking out. The building that
they are demolishing is currently a chicken coupe. Mrs. Lord questioned what they were
putting in its place. Mrs. Webb replied that they will be building a shed because the garage is
not big enough to hold all of the pool equipment. Mrs. Webb then commented that the new
shed will be a pole building. She has spoken with the building department and they did not
have a problem with the pole construction. 1VIr. Barker commented that he feels the Webb's
should not even be at this boai-d.
