V/ <br />(1 123.12). Which consists of building a new supermarket for the sale of retail products and that the <br />following variances be granted: <br />1. A 3' 10" variance for height of wall sign #1 (code permits 4'-0", applicant shows 7'-10"), section <br />(1163.27-C). <br />2. A 198 sq. ft. variance for excess square footage wall sio,,n #1 "Tops" east elevation (code permits 100 <br />sq. ft., applicant shows 298 sq. ft.), section (1163.27-C). <br />3. A variance for a second wall sign #2 "Food/Market" east elevation (code permits 1, applicant shows <br />3), section (1163.27-A). <br />4. A variance for a third wall sign #3 "Tops" south elevation (code permits 1, applicant shows 3), <br />section (1163.27-A). <br />5. A 172 sq. ft. variance for excessive wall signage for the building (code permits 258 sq. ft., applicant <br />shows 430 sq. ft.), section (1163.24-C). <br />6, A variance for 3 additional ground signs 92, #3, &#4 (code permits 2, applicant shows 5), section <br />(1163.26-A). <br />They are to return at the next regularly scheduled meeting to re-propose their ground/pylon signs. The <br />future signaae on the building has to be approved by the ground lease. The motion was seconded by J. <br />Konold and was unanimously approved. Variance #1-6 Granted 5/3/01. <br />10. Charter One Bank; 25290 L,orain Road: <br />Request for variance (1123.12). The proposal consists of an addition to existing building. <br />The following variances are requested: <br />1. A special permit to add to a non-conforining building (1165.02). <br />2. A 24 foot variance for building front yard setback, (code requires 75 ft. applicant shows 51 ft.), <br />section (1139.07). <br />3. A 7 foot variance far building side yard setback, (code requires 10 ft, applicant shows 3 ft.), section <br />(1139.01). <br />4. A 15 foot variance for building rear yard setback, (code requires 25 ft, applicant shows 10 ft), section <br />(1139.07). <br />5. An 8 foot variance for building drive front yard setback, (code requires 20 ft, applicant shows 12 ft), <br />section (1139.07). <br />6. An 8 foot variance for building parking side yard setback, (code requiresl0 ft, applicant shows 2 ft), <br />section (1139.07). <br />7. A 6 foot variance for building drive rear yard setback, (code requires 10 ft, applicant shows 4 ft), <br />section (1139.07). <br />8. A variance for 4 car parking, (code requires 15, applicant shows 11), section (1161.05 Q). <br />Wluch is in violation of Ord. 90-125 sections, 1139.07, 1165.02 and 1161.05-Q. <br />Note: <br />1. The car parking variance could be deleted pending an agreement with the adjoining property owner <br />and the oinission of a drive also could be eliminated. <br />2. The ground sign as shown needs to be relocated as it is partially on the state of Ohio property, along <br />with the 2 signs on the east side. <br />3 The drive to the east is being viewed as a one way drive as it is only 12 feet wide. <br />Chairman Maloney called all interested parties forward to review the proposal. The oath was <br />administered to Jim Lantz, senior vice president of Charter One Bank, and Leroy Vandegrift, the <br />architect, who came forward to review the proposal. Mr. Lantz passed out revised drawings that relate <br />to a sign that has been moved over a little bit. He also had the agreement in writing with the people to <br />the rear of them that they have a parking contract with. Mr. Vandegrift indicated that they are expanding <br />the existing bank. They propose to add 12 ft. to both east and west sides of the building. The amount of <br />9
