All they want to do is replace the "and More" with "and Shutters". Mr. Maloney indicated that this will
balance the sign out and that he had no problem with it. Mr. Kelly agreed. Mr. Maloney called for a
motion.
W. Kremzar motioned to grant 3 Day Blinds of 4687 Great Northern Blvd. their request for variance
1123.12. Which consists of a sign and that the following variance be granted:
A 10 sq. ft, variance for maximum sign face area for a building unit (code permits 80 sq. ft., applicant
shows 90 sq. ft.). _
Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125. The motion was seconded by J. Maloney and unanimously
approved. Varianee Granted 9/6/01.
8. Cort Furniture' 4698 Great Northern Bivd.:
Request for variance (1123.12). The proposal consists of a temporary 40'x 60' tent from September 19,
2001 to September 24, 2001. The following variance is requested:
A variance for 15 car parking reduction.
Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 section 1161.05 (w).
Chairman Maloney called all interested parties forward to review the request. The proposal consists of signage. .
The following variance is requested:
A 14.5 sq. ft. variance for maximum signage allowable for building unit (code permits 18 sq. ft., applicant
shows 32.5 sq. ft.), section (1163.24-C).
Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 section (1163.24 C).
Chairman Maloney called all interested parties forward to review the request. The oath was adaninistered
to Joy McBride, with Cicogna Signs, representing Cingular Wireless. 1VIs. McBride indicated that
Ameritch recently changed their name to Cingular Wireless. When they boxed in the upper case L and
lower case G, it exceeds the square footage allowable by code. It is approximately 15 sq. ft. over
because of the 8.5 inches on the G and the 8.5 inches on the L. The letter forms are not in excess of the
size that is existing, in fact the sign they propose is smaller. If they'd went with letters the size they
should be according to code, it would create an extreme hardship because they would end up with a 7
inch letter. Mr. Kremzar indicated that the Ameritch sign looks larger anyhow. Mr. Maloney
complimented Ms. McBride's description and detail and called for a motion.
W.
