1. A 550 square foot variance for Total Square foot area (code permits 750 sq. ft.,
applicant shows 1,300-sq. ft.). Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 section, 1135.02
C-1.
Chairman Maloney called all interested parties forward to review the proposal. The oath
was administered to NIr. Siegmeyer, the owner - Ms. Sindelar, Mrs. & Mr. Thompson,
and Mrs. Dudzik who are neighbors. Mr..Siegmeyer indicated that he was requesting an
addition to his garage. It would bee about 30 feet widtfi and 25 foot deep. Mr. Koberna
questioned why the addition was needed. W. Siegmeyer commented that he would like
to store his cars in the garages. Mr. Koberna inquired if the back of the existing garage
would be opened to get access. Mr. Siegmeyer reviewed that the new addition would
just be added and have its own entrance. Ms. Sindelar voiced that she is concerned about
the size of the garage. She questioned what it will be used for and suggested she did not
want to look at a SOfoot wall. Mr. Siegmeyer suggested he could put in a higher fence so
the neighbors did not have to see the wall. Mr. Thomson is concerned about the size of
the garage as well as what it will be used for. Ms. Sindelar suggested that there were all
lcinds of stuff behind the garage. Mr. Siegmeyer commented that the things would be
stored in the new garage. Ms. Dudzik is concerned about the use of the addition. She
would like to make sure that the garage is not going to be used for a business. Mr.
Siegmeyer assured the neighbors that the garage would not be used for a business. Mr.
Kremzar questioned the distance between the garage and the shed. W. Siegmeyer
believed it was 15 feet. Mr. Konold questioned what would be done with the existing
shed. Mr. Siegmeyer suggested that he could remove the shed if the board wanted, but
he would like to keep it. Ms. Sindelar questioned what material would be used. Mr.
Siegmeyer indicated that it would be vinyl siding. Mr. Maloney questioned if the
applicant would be willing to move the new garage to the north of the existing garage.
Mr. Siegmeyer believed the garage would be to close to his home. W. Koberna voiced a
concern as to why such a big garage was needed. Mr. Siegmeyer reiterated that he
wanted to park his cars in the garage and store his yard tools as well. He also does work
on his own cars and wants to park his cars indoors. Mr. Kremzar questioned if the size
could be smaller. Mr. Siegmeyer indicated that he would like to have at least the same
size as the existing garage. The neighbors are concern about the numbers of cars in the
yard and the things that are stored in the yard. Mr. Siegmeyer remarked that all the cars
will be in the garage and the yard would be cleaned up. Nir. Maloney made suggestions
on moving the garage. Mr. Koberna questioned if there had to be a hard surface
entrance. Mr. Rymarczyk reviewed that if a new drive was needed it must be concrete or
asphalt under the current code. Ms. Thompson is concerned about the size of the garage.
Ms. Sindelar is concerned about the buildings being different materials. Mr. Koberna
voiced a concern about using siding in lieu of brick, as it would look like it is just tacked
on. Mr. Siegmeyer believes that with it being in the back of the home it will not be seen.
Mr. Koberna suggested landscaping work also be done. Mr. Siegmeyer indicated that the
area will be cleaned up. The neighbors have children and are concerned about their
children's safety.
3
