The Commission would like Wal Mart to <br />be a good neighbor by not having any pallets on the outside of the building_ <br />Mr. Bernard indicated that they would be removed. 1VIr. Hreha questioned if <br />the roof would support a large amount of snow. Mrs. Styra indicated that it <br />could handle a large amount of snow as indicated in the report that was <br />submitted. <br />R. Tallon motioned to approve the Wal Mart Store #2316 of 24801 Brookpark <br />Road which consists of adding 6,028-sq. ft. of Polly-carbonate canopy to the <br />existing garden center. The motion was seconded by W. Spalding and <br />unanimously approved. Motion Cari-ied. Note: The clerk announced that the <br />proposal would be sent ico the Committee of Zoning and Development which <br />will be held 5/9/01 at 6:30pm in council chambers. <br />3. Tops Marlcets; 26666 Brookpark Rd. Ext. <br />Proposal consists of removing the existing Aines store (104,330-sq. ft.) for <br />new Tops Marlcet & retail buildings. (77,920 sq. ft.) <br />Chairman 'I'allon called all interested parties forward to review their proposal. <br />Mr. Eric Sheniceiz, Director of Engineering and store planning for Top <br />Supermarket, Mr. Lou Turnerly, with Top's Market and Mr. John Crook the <br />architect who will review the project came #'orward to review tfie proposal. <br />Mr. Crook indicated that the current Ames store will be removed. Top's <br />Supermarket has been wanting to upgrade their store and the current Ames site <br />has been chosen. The new entrance to the building will be orientated towards <br />the east. The service area will be to the west side of the building. The new <br />building will be 80 feet closer to the front of the site. There is an existing <br />daycare which wil] remain in place. An 8foot board on board fence will be <br />placed between the new building and the daycare. The service area will be <br />located on the west side of the building and landscaping will be added to hide <br />the area. However most of the new landscaping will be along Brookpark road. <br />There will be new pavement, and lighting added to the site. The second <br />building proposed currently has no tenant, but believe it may be a restaurant of <br />some type. They would like to request a traffic light be placed at the four way <br />stop. There will be two new entrances placed along Brookpark Road. One of <br />the entrances will be used for the service trucks. The north properiy line has <br />an existing chain Iink fence and older vegetation. There is an existing drainage <br />ditch and two Iarge mounds to the east and west side of the site. There will be <br />a continuous sidewalk around the store front. The building will be a white split <br />face block with a red E.I.F.S. accent band along the front only. As there is not <br />a tenant for the retail building at this timest is very basic in structure, but will <br />develop as a tenant is found. Mr. Spalding reviewed that he had visited the site <br />and he would like to see the existing drainage ditch culvert as it is currently <br />unsightly. It could also use mounds across the entire northern property line. <br />Mr. Crook indicated that drainage would be addressed and they would look <br />into culvert pipes. Mr. Hreha questioned if the applicants had samples of the <br />masonry block that is to be used and questioned how much E.I.F.S. would be <br />used on the building. Mr. Crook indicated that the only E,I.F.S., which would <br />be used, would be at the entrance to the store. Mr. Tallon indicated that the <br />3
