I.? - . 16
were already existing. Mr. Bauschard indicated that they were not existing, this circle depicts the
ash trees at mature growth. Mr. Zergott suggested that it looks like somebody put some thought
into the landscape design. One thing he noticed is that they are showing a lot of early spring
flowering plants, which will blooin before anybody will be golfing here. What he can do is touch it
up and he Iikes the flow of the plan, but almost everything is going to bloom when it is still pretty
cold out. Mr. Bauschard questioned if Mr. Zergott was a landscape architect. Mr. Zergott
explained that he was a landscape designer. Mr. Bauschard questioned what time frame he was
talking when he said early spring. 1VIr. Zergott indicated that this would be blooming probably
March and April. He thinks the biggest months of use on the course are going to be May, June
and July. So, what he can do is take the landscape plan back, if he can get a copy, and revise the
plants so they bloom a little later in the year. He is willing do that on his own time for this project.
Mr. Bauschard questioned if he would like to contact the landscape architect that drew this one up
and get together. Mr. Zergott suggested however he would like to work it out would be fine. Mr.
Bauschard questioned if he could get a copy of the meeting notes, so that he could know exactly
what IVIr. Zergott was saying. Ms. Schulz questioned the windows that would be used. Mr.
Bauschard indicated that the windows would be clear glass. They are trying to maximize the glass
area. He suggested that the gazebo behind the A.D.A. restrooms could be seen from the parking
lot, so that people know where the clubhouse is when they pull in. Ms. Schulz questioned if he
could finish describing the windows. Mr. Bauschard indicated that the window materials and
frames would match the existing structures window frames. The materials include white clad
frames, matching brick, and a typical manufacturer window: something like Pella. Ms. Schulz
indicated that the elevations on the plan do not even show frames around the windows. She
questioned if they were going to use white frames or bronze to match the brick that the plan
depicts. At this time Mr. Yager indicated that he had prior arrangements tonight and had to be on
his way. He suggested that he feels the same way leaving this meeting as he did the last. He has a
little frustration as to Springvale looking at some other options, maybe they've done that but this is
what they think is best. Mr. Bauschard questioned other options for what. Mr. Yager replied in
terms of some of the coordinating of the connection between the old and the new structures. He
apologized that he had to leave and excused himself. Ms. Schulz indicated that it is hard to see on
the plans the roof drains and how they tie into the structure. One of the other unknowns was if
there was going to be any lighting design incorporated into this, knowing there is no golf at night,
but the ballroom is certainly used at night. Mr. Bauschard indicated that the eaternal lighting is off
the scope of what they're working with. However, the building the lighting is set up so that under
the canopy near the parking lot there are down lights in the soffet which will light up the pro shop
area. You would also be able to see whatever interior lights that are on. There is some lighting at
the entrance, which will be sconces. Mr. Liggett indicated that the way the architect is attaching
this building, in his opinion, is very clumsy. The reason he says that is because he doesn't care for
the toilet room addition in the first place, but the way the gazebo on the end (pro shop) attaches to
the toilet room addition, just makes it look tacked on and shoved back to the point of where the
roofs are very clumsy with each ather. Was there any type of discussions about bringing that
gazebo in more so it becomes more of its individual entity, or bringing it out into the parking lot a
little more, or was there any other issues discussed that could have resolved the clumsiness. Mr.
Bauschard indicated that they specifically created it as an octagonal shape and made a separation
between the two shapes. There is a significant setback here so that the two shapes are pulled
apart. Mr. Liggett questioned if in other words he was trying to ignore the toilet room facility.
Mr. Bauschard replied no, they are trying to separate the two volumes. If they move it into the
parkina lot, then they would have to re-arrange the whole parking lot. Mr. Liggett explained that
when he was talking about clumsy, he is talkina about large groups stepping down to lower groups
and then this octagonal shape in between. He suggested bringing the end gazebo in or out one way
3
