5). Albert Velikaz, 3673 W. 232 St., WRD 2 <br />Request for variance (1123.12). The proposal consists of a new pool deck. <br />The following variance is requested: <br />l. A 150 square foot variance for ZO% rear yard area (code permits 640 sq. ft., applicant shows 790 <br />sq. ft.). Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125, section (1135.02 (a)(2)). <br />Chairman Maloney called all interested parties forward to review their request. Mr. & Mrs. Velikaz <br />the owners, Mr. Haggerty, Mr. Miller, Mr. Wahlay, abutting neighbors each came forward to be <br />sworn in and address the request. The applicants reviewed that they were before the board a month <br />earlier and now returned with a request 27% smaller than what was requested a month earlier. Each of <br />the abutting neighbors voiced that they thought the request would enhance the appearance of the <br />neighborhood. The chairman read aloud a letter from a neighbor that could not be present, voicing she <br />approved of the deck. <br />W. Kremzar motioned to grant Albert Velikaz of 3673 W. 232 St., their request for variance <br />(1123.12), whicla consists of a new pool deck and that the following variance is granted; A 150 <br />square foot variance for 20% rear yard area (code permits 640 sq. ft., applicant shows 790 sq. <br />ft.). Which es in veolation of Ord. 90-125, section (1135.02 (a)(2)). The motion was seconded by J. <br />Konold and unanimously appa-oved. Variance Granted <br />6). Matthew & Kathleen McLaughlin, 26821 Sweetbriar, VVRD 1 <br />Request for variance (1123.12). The proposal consists of a new front porch. <br />The following variance is requested: <br />1. A 4 foot variance for new front porch (set back requirements) (code requires 50 ft., applicant shows <br />46 ft.). Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 section (1135.06 (a)). <br />Chairman Maloney called all interested parties forward to review their request. Mr. McLaughlin the <br />owner came forward to be sworn in and address his request. The applicant would like to build a porch <br />on the front of his home so he and his wife do not have to sit in the driveway any longer. The porch <br />would match the current style of their home. <br />J. Konold motioned to grant Matthew & Kathleen 1dlcLaughlin of 26821 Sweetbriar Drive their <br />request for variance (1123.12), which consists of a new front porch and that the following <br />variance is granted; A 4-foot front yard setback variance for new porch (code requires 50 ft., <br />applicant shows 46 ft.). Which is in violation of Orcl. 90-125 seetion (1135.06 (a)). N. Sergi <br />seconded the motion, which vaas unanimously approved. Variance Granted <br />7). Willnam & I,aura Kozel, 24853Randall I)rive, WRD 4 <br />Request for variance (1123.12). The proposal consists of a 30 x13 addition. <br />The following variances are requested: <br />1. A 29.5 foot variance for rear yard requirements (min. depth) (code requires 50 ft., applicant shows <br />20.5 ft.), section (1135.08 (a)). <br />2. A 267 square foot variance for maximum lot coverage over 25% (code permits 2280 square feet, <br />applicant shows 2547 square feet), section (1135.05 (c)). <br />Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 sections (1135.08 (a)), and (1135.08 (c)). <br />Chairman Maloney called all interested parties forward to review their request. Mr. 1VIrs. Kozel the <br />owners, Mr. & Mrs. Sisetski, and Mr. Congelli neighbors each came forward to be sworn in and <br />address the request. The applicants request the 30'x 13' addition to accommodate Mrs. Kozel's <br />parents living with them as they are handi cap. The attending neighbors voiced that they understood <br />the reason for the addition but they are concerned about how it will affect the neighborhood. The <br />3
