then two in the front. Mr. Mox confirmed that. Mr. Lasko asked if there will be any lights on the
building shining down on the lot. Mr. Mox said there will be signage in the front and some lighting at
the doors. Mr. Allan said it is quite an improvement as the property is an eye sore now. It is an
exception to have a new building offering more green space than what was there to begin with.
En ineer's uestaons and Comments:
Mr. Durbin said the forester will come out and assess the tree for them. Mr. Mox said they are
proposing to put in a number of new trees so if one did have to come down, another one would be put in.
Mr. Durbin indicated they worked with Mr. Mox on the storm water issues. Cinaular Wireless; Oa? ramp at Stearns Road & I-480, PP# 234-22-019, 001, 003 & 004
Proposal consists of installing a permitted 190 foot self supported monopole tower & 11.5' X 20' radio
equipment pre-fab building in the I-480 state right of way.
Auulicant's I'rESentcrfiore:
Mr. Ed Block with the engineering firm of GPD Associates came forward and indicated he is an agent
for Cingular. He said John Kovitch, a radio frequency engineer, is also present. Mr. Block said the
tower is within a graveled and fenced area that will be landscaped around the perimeter. The location is
on the infield of the onramp on the northeast intersection of I-480 and Stearns Road. He said Cingular is
in the process of improving coverage for northeastern Ohio and as part of that process, they determined
there are very large holes in certain areas and they are trying to fill those holes. He gave "before and
after" maps to the board members that depict the coverage areas. Mr. Block reviewed the coverage
areas and indicated there is a roof top site at Victoria Plaza. He said Site 63 is an existing tower that
Cingular co-locates on. He added that Site 62 is a twin tower that Cingular is on. Mr. Hreha asked for
the location of that site. Mr. Block replied it is in North Ridgeville at the interchange of the turnpike and
exit 10. He said Site 197 is a new monopole they built that is on the high school property in Olmsted
Falls. He said to fill the area they needed, they needed to find a location in the heart of that to put up a
tower or co-locate. He said there were no existing wireless carriers in the area and as they looked at the
North Olmsted code, they found out it is a permitted use on O.D.O.T. property. He said they
approached O.D.O.T. and came up with the proposed site. He said the site itself is a fenced area that is
7303 and has a landscaped buffer with two types of evergreen trees. The fence will be a 7 foot high
shadow box fence. He added the drive entrance is out onto the onramp, which was determined to be the
best location, as opposed to coming out onto Stearns. The utilities will be picked up from across the
road and will end up going under Stearns back to the site. Mr. Block mentioned that one type of tree to
be used is Austrian pine and also a red pine in a dual row that surrounds the entire site other than the
gate. The gate is facing away from the residential area.
3
