?Bill suggested a lockable partition or walled off area with locking door for NOHC to utilize as storage space. Roger stated that he would like to pursue the possibility of utilizing the balcony space adjacent (west) to the office space as storage. ?Randi asked if anyone besides NOHC currently uses this space. Todd replied that occasionally other groups will use this space if the pool classroom is unavailable, and that occasionally Cartooning will hold their class there. But it is not often used other than by the NOHC. ?Randi inquired if the Rec Center has ever charged for this space. Todd replied that we do not charge for community groups or organizations to utilize this room. ?Mike wondered if it would be worthwhile approaching WSFSC and other clubs if they would have an interest in utilizing this space for their meetings. Roger stated that NOHC is not necessarily looking to have exclusive use of the space, or even charge other groups. They simply would like to invest in renovating the space to make it more conducive to meetings and have a place of their own for storage. ?Claire inquired whether NOHC will maintain and renovate the space themselves. Roger stated that members of the club are willing to donate their time and skills to renovate the space. Todd stated that the Rec Center would actually maintain and clean the space on a regular basis. Roger will prepare a proposal for the renovation to present at the next meeting. Todd stated he would be doing a comparison of fees with other facilities. Sandra Andrews, Pool Supervisor, Addresses Commission: Sandra passed out a “Goals, Objectives & Action Plan” Some of her ideas are as follows: ?New Public Swim Ideas ?Special Fun Nights ?Inflatable slide &/or pool toys ?Keep Learn-To-Swim Fun! ?Offer practice passes (w/adult) as rink does ?Add one extra Tot Class (have done already for summer) ?Provide toys for Toddler Classes (will be doing for June Toddler classes as trial) ?Purchase Tot Docks (raise water level so tots can stand comfortably in water) ?Offer Community Benefit Events ?Bring in More Private Groups ?Have advertised in spring brochure for this already ?Host diving meet with LakeShore USS Diving Club ?Create local boy/girl scouts packages ?Create New Programs ?Kayaking during off-season ?Work with scuba group (Gone To Sea Scuba) to make it one of our programs ?Hold USS Diving Team and Master’s swim meets ?Physical Improvements ?Purchase equipment carts to replace bulky, encumbersome bags used (have done already) ?Revamp pool storage room (spoke with Tom Stein, Maintenance Supv. already) ?Consider adding a Family Changing Room (real need for this) ?Rebuild outdoor pool and wading pool Page 2
