The <br />building will be shut down, with the exception of the offices, ticket booth, and pool. These <br /> <br />areas will be operated by a generator. <br /> <br />?The doorway between the new offices and the concession area should soon be underway. <br /> <br />Larsen Architects has stamped the plans for approval. <br /> <br />?Spring Hockey League is winding down. Trophies are being distributed. <br /> <br />?New popcorn machine has been purchased for Concession. The new popcorn is selling well. <br />Also looking at purchasing a new pizza oven. The plan is to purchase raw pizzas from <br />Angelina’s and cook it on the premises in 8 minutes. <br />Michael asked if the machines are being purchased or leased. Todd stated that the popcorn <br />machine was purchased; it is expected to last approx. 20 years and the oven will be purchased <br /> <br />at a cost of $500. We will be demo-ing this oven in the very near future. <br />nd <br /> <br />?The school levy has passed; thus our permits will now be re-instated on June 22. <br /> <br />?Central Playground Program this year will be run by Carrie Waddell. Carrie will be <br />graduating from Baldwin Wallace College. We hope to keep her for a number of years, thus <br /> <br />obtaining some continuity with the program. <br /> <br />?We are in the process of obtaining pricing on pool grandstands. <br /> <br />?Met with Don Copeland, Director of Human Resources to look into obtaining some grants for <br /> <br />the Fitness Center <br /> <br />?Tennis locker room hall light has been ordered, as well as a new bench. <br /> <br />?Turner Construction will be out to give us some insight and pricing on building an additional <br /> <br />court on the Tennis area <br /> <br />?Packet information reviewed <br /> <br />Discussion: <br />Randi stated that Roger Galippo is currently working on his proposal requested at the previous <br />meeting. He will be ready to present at the next Recreation Commission meeting. Michael <br />inquired on the status of Special Recreation. Todd stated that he has not yet found an instructor. <br /> <br />Review of Park Improvement Plan: <br /> <br />?Homerun fence plan proposed by NOSO costing $5000 would be 100% funded by NOSO. <br />The fence would run from the right field light pole, out 315’ from Diamond #3, going 6’ to 8’ <br />back to 6’. Lisa asked Todd to bring this up to the Commission, as she would like a formal <br />vote as to whether to go ahead with this plan. Michael’s concern is the aesthetics of the park. <br />Is it feasible to consider a fence that can be removed? Todd stated that it is feasible. Randi <br />and Duane’s feeling is that the fence is much needed for safety purposed, and that the fence <br />necessary to address this situation is not all that intrusive on the aesthetics of the park. Lisa <br />inquired when this is scheduled to be done. Todd stated that they have the money and are <br />willing to begin immediately. Michael would like to look at the possibility of having a partial <br />permanent and partial temporary fencing. Todd recommends the permanent fencing be <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />
