Minutes of a Meeting of
The North Olmsted Parks and Recreation Commission
November 8, 2004

Mr. DiSalvo said that there are different sizes of dasher boards as well – ones that go in the main
rink - and the outer ones that are a little bit smaller. The Commissioner could not remember the
price range between the different sizes; he was giving the Rec Commission the Rec Department’s
net expectations.

There will be a separate account for improving the Complex as well as repairing it, which is the
idea behind the advertising. That will not take away from Cap Improvements; the new account
will consist of “ghost” funds, so there will not be a negative reflection on the budget. Ms. Jones
said that this is a wonderful way to generate funds. She said that she hoped someone contacts
Kaufmann’s because they’ve given to the High School Field a football sign (on the scoreboard).

Eagle Sign

Ms. Jones asked if the Eagle sign will be put back above the benches. Ms. Drenski replied that
the Hockey Club wants to paint it. (General, overlapping conversation regarding the Eagle above
the benches and on the ice).

Rec Facility Video Security RFP/Computers

The Commissioner stated that a legislative request will be made for the Rec Facility Video
Security RFP to complete Phase II of the Rec Complex Facility Security Plan. Once the request
is approved, the Facility Video Security RFP will be sent to security providers where Joe Rice will
conduct a pre-bidder meeting and recommend a provider based on submitted bid proposals.

Ms. Jones asked what the Plan could accomplish, e.g., when one walks into the facility, what will
happen to him/her. Mr. DiSalvo replied that for the present time only the video aspect of security
is being considered by monitoring the Rec in one location. Mr. Jesse said that, hopefully, no one
will see anything (that’s the best part of security: no one will know).

Ms. Jones asked if this is being worked out in conjunction with the computers. Mr. DiSalvo said
yes, it’s all tied in at this time. He did not know when the new computers will be received for the
Rec Complex. He asked Mr. Jesse whether or not the video aspect will interface with The Rec
Department’s computers. Mr. Jesse said that it may. Hopefully, everything will be monitored
from individual offices.

Again, Ms. Jones said the Security RFP is a wonderful accomplishment; it just seems that it’s been
taking so long because it was always in the background. Mr. Jesse said that security was put on
hold because of the computer situation. Mr. DiSalvo said that the Rec Department will probably
be one of the last departments to get connected into the new computer system.
Page 4
