Minutes of a Meeting of
The North Olmsted Parks and Recreation Commission
August 1, 2005

Based on the above report, the Commissioner did not know how feasible the kiosk would be;
however, that’s his report, and he will discuss it with Councilman Miller later. Mr. DiSalvo
believes the Rec Center is not set up to offer internet usage at the Rec Center.

Mr. Baxter asked if the Library had computer access (replied to in the affirmative).

This concluded the Report of the Recreation Commissioner.

REPORT OF THE SAFETY DIRECTOR

Message from Mayor O’Grady Regarding Department Policies

The City of North Olmsted’s July 4th Bike Contest and Parade administered by the Recreation
Department is not a “Recreation Department” event; it is a “City of North Olmsted” event. Also,
the Mayor wanted to make certain that it is understood that he sets policy for the Department, not
the other way around. Of six
or seven, the City has interest in four of them:

?

10:30 a.m. with Kerr & Boron Associates
?

1:00 p.m. with RD Zande & Associates with Gaber & Associates
?

2:30 p.m. with Moody Nolan with Kinzelman Kline; and
?

4:00 p.m. with Bradstetter Carroll Zofcin

Mr. DiSalvo said that it will be an assessment and feasibility study of the current and future
conditions of the Rec Department, or what they can provide us. Mr. Baxter thought this a good
idea. Mr. Limpert said that this Rec Center is a 30-year design, and one thing after another is
falling apart. This is Phase 2 of the Plan.

Tennis HVAC Installation Status

Mr. Limpert said that there is legislation being introduced to upgrade the HVAC units in the
tennis area. This is something discussed during the budget process, so it is something in the
works and is a big package needing Council approval. Mr. Limpert thought it was as close as a
Page 19
