Minutes of a Meeting of the
North Olmsted Parks and Recreation Commission
February 4, 2008

the Actual total revenue at the close of business of 2007 was $115,138; at the close of business for
January 2008 was $103,227. Ms. Drenski said there was a Coke Vending of $2,000 last year, and
Cindi Bartko changed her lesson registrations where last year she had $9,800 and this year she had
$1,700, so that is about $8-$10,000 overall difference. Mr. DiSalvo said that this December we
should make up what we made this January, if that makes sense. It’s all a matter of timing with the
months and registrations. Mr. Dailey asked if there was a big month last month. Mr. DiSalvo said at
the beginning it went way up and then, Ms. Drenski said, it slipped. Mr. Dailey asked if there was
anything being sent out to the schools to let them know about it again. Mr. DiSalvo said that Jenny
(Couts) makes her rounds.

On the second page, you can see in detail where the Revenue Detail is being generated from each cost
center, including the Rink, Pool, Individual & Team Sports, Tennis, Gymnastics, Enrichment, and
Miscellaneous.

Mr. DiSalvo said he would have more details with financials as soon as the Budget is approved. The
th
final copy is due on Wednesday, February 6. There will be month-to-date and year-to-date
projections as well by next month.

Mr. DiSalvo asked if there were any questions on the Financials.

Personal Note to Rec Commission

The only thing Mr. DiSalvo had left in his report was on a personal note: he is proud to say that his
th
brother, Joe, is being promoted to a Brigadier General on February 15, so he and his family will be
going to Washington, D.C., to witness this event at the Pentagon. He said he was excited and proud
of his brother. Many said this was very exciting for the family. Mr. Dailey said it took him a while;
he earned it. Mr. Groden said this was terrific news about the Commissioner’s brother. Mr. DiSalvo
thanked him.

This concluded the Report of the Recreation Commissioner.

REPORT OF THE COMMUNITY LIFE SERVICES DIRECTOR

Pool Filter

Mr. Dailey reported that the pool filter prompted bid specs in the local paper, and the contract will be
awarded through the Board of Control at City Hall. He continued by stating that it would take about
eight to ten weeks. Right now we are about seventeen weeks out, so there is plenty of time to make
sure the pool filter is in place for the summer. There has been Whitmer Pools and Miller Plumbing out
of Chagrin Falls have requested copies of the bid specs. There might have been a third, so that is
moving forward.
Page 4
