Ordinance Amendments Cont.:

Ted: Are you talking about the Group Rentals? Julie: I know with the Swim Meets that was a heated
discussion. They went from $102.00 to $105.00 for Swim Meets. It doesn’t represent a significant increase it is
not the same percentage across the board. Ted: Right, we are cautious with that. Any other questions on the
ordinance pricing or program price ranges? Kevin: Are you looking for this body to approve this or take any
kind of action on this, this evening? Ted: Well if anything, recommend it to the Recreation Committee to present
to Council because I have got to get this submitted. Terry: So do we have a motion to do that? Kim: I move
to recommend to Council the new rate structure. Motion seconded. Terry: All in favor? Yes. Terry: Any
opposed? No. Terry: Does Marie have the ordinance already? Ted: I still have to fill out the legislative
request form. Julie: I would suggest putting a letter of description for the Camp so it doesn’t look so drastic.
Ted: O.K. Julie: As well a putting in the current rates.

Ted: The second one is in regards to the Secretary to Rec. Commission Ordinance 71-160. The Recreation
commission qualified that the next appointed Secretary to the Recreation Commission would not receive
monetary compensation for performing such duties, and that the appointment to the position of secretary to the
Recreation Commission would go to the current Secretary I, Linda Andrews who is also the Secretary to the
Commissioner of the Recreation Department. Furthermore Linda’s presence is not required during the actual
Recreation Commission meeting as the tape recorder will be operated by either the Commissioner or Assistant
Commissioner during each meeting. The tape will then be turned over to Linda the following day so that the
meeting minutes may be recorded in print form and then distributed in a timely fashion. A motion is made to
approve the legislative request Ord. 71-160 to the Recreation Committee. Julie: I second the motion. Terry:
All in favor? Yes. Terry: Any opposed? No.

Recreation Commission Attendance:

Ted: Please contact me the Friday before the Rec. Commission meeting on whether or not you will be attending.
That way if we do not have quorum we can give people advance notice. If that sounds o.k. we will do this, if
there are any objections or questions just let me know and we will figure something out. Judy typically would
not get back to me until later and I was always calling her on Monday to see if we were going to have Rec.
Commission meeting or not. I don’t know what the reporting line was between the Rec. Commission members
and Judy but I think if this simplifies it if you cannot make it and if you can call me by Friday that may clear
things up. Kim: I think it is up to the individual members, if they can’t make it. I don’t think the Secretary
should have to call everybody and as if they are going to be there. I think it should be assumed that they will be
there unless they call. Julie: You would assume that however you don’t want some showing up and there is no
quorum. Kevin: So if enough people called you and said they can’t make it then Linda probably would let us
know we don’t have quorum. Ted: If it goes directly to me it will go a lot easier then I can tell Linda we don’t
have quorum, there won’t be a meeting. Terry: I was just wondering does this happen often? Ted: I really
don’t know until the day of the meeting, I don’t know who is coming. Ted: The reason I have you contacting
me is the Union agreement just got settled and there are eighteen furlough days, I don’t want Linda to miss the
calls so it will be easier if you just call me. Will that be o.k.? Kevin: Is everyone o.k. with that? Yes. Ted:
That concludes my report, where there any questions?

Page 7
