the request for a 5 foot, 4 inch height variance, a 15 square foot area
variance, and a location variance for a gazebo (shed), seconded by B.
Grace, and unanimously approved. Variance granted.
4. B. P. Oil Company, 25295 Lorain Road.
This request was heard above with the.eontinued items.
5. John M. Suschak, 4465 West Ranchview Ave.
Request for variance (1123.12). Requdst 8 foot, 9 inch rear yard variance
to construct an addition. Violation of Ord. 87-93, Section 1135.08.
Chairman Bugala called all interested parties before the Board. The oath
was. administered to Mr.. and Mrs. Suschak, and neighbors; Mrs. Moran, who
live in" the rear, Mr. and'Mrs. FildandMr.. -.and Mrs. Hartwig,, who -.live on
either side of the Suschak house. Mr. Suschak explained that he only had
.2 bedrooms and, after -the birth of twins, they now have four children they
would like to add a master bedroom, a family roan and a bath. Mr.'Hartwig
stated that this was not a.hardship since when they bought .the house they
stated that they were going to have to add on.. The neighbors believe that
they should conform to the ordinance and maintain the 50 foot rear yard.
They pointed out that the other houses in the neighborhood had more than a
50 foot rear yard. Mr. Fild complained that he would have a 40 foot brick
wall next to his kitchen window. Mr. Bugala stated that Mr. Suschak could
build a 22 foot addition without a variance and this would only be 8 foot,
9 inches more. Mr. Grace stated that he paced the addition off and it
will not be blocking the view of the homes down the street. Neighbors
disagreed, stating that this would destroy their homes. Mr. Gomersall
questioned what they meant and Mr. Fild stated it would devalue all their
homes, no one would buy their houses since this would stick out so far. R.
Gomersall moved to grant the request of John M. Suschak at 4465 West
Ranchview Ave., for an 8 foot, 9inch rear yard variance to construct an
addition, seconded by B. Grace, and unanimously approved. Variance
granted.
6. Keith and Donna Britting, 6484 McKenzie Road
Request for variance (1123.12). Request 3 foot side yard variance and 8
foot rear yard variance to construct addition. Violations of Ord. 87-93,
Sections 1135.07 and 1135.08(a).
Chairman Bugala called all interested parties before the Board. The oath
was administered to Mrs. Britting who explained that they were enlarging
the kitchen and adding a bath. She explained that the original addition
did get a variance about 13 years ago. It was noted that there would be
18 feet between this addition and the house next door. She explained that
since they made this request, a different contractor has suggested that
they square off the addition so they would need a 10 foot rear yard
variance. The members had no problem. R. Gomersall moved to grant to
Keith and Donna Britting, 6484 McKenzie, their request for a 3 foot side
yard variance and a 10 foot rear yard variance to construct an addition,
seconded by J. Helon, and unanimously approved. Variance granted.
7. Bill and Edna Hackman, 25171 Tara Lynn
IL Request for variance (1123.12). Request 12 foot rear yard variance to
3
