Mr. Cummings commented that the Lieutenants written exam results were already <br />approved therefore he would only read the final results of the three Fire Fighters who <br />participated in the Lieutenants oral assessment. Number 1 is Fire Fighter, Gut with a <br />score of 103.85. 2nd Fire Fighter, Robertson with 94.51and 3rd Fire Fighter, Dunwoodie <br />with 92.46. <br />E. Cummings motioned to certify the Lieutenants promotional exam scores. The motion <br />was seconded by J. Thomay and unanimously approved. Motion Carried. <br />IV. NEW BUSINESS: <br />1). The Commissioners will need to make a motion regarding Police Chief Ruple's request to <br />have Candidate Corey A. Crell removed from the Dispatchers entry level list. <br />The clerk reviewed that the Police department tried to contact Mr. Crell on several <br />occasions but was unable to locate him. The Police department contacted his last known <br />address for Mr. Crell. Motion Carried. <br />2). On September 7, 1999 Police candidate Deucher was notified that his name .was being <br />removed from the entry level list for failing the background check. On September 16, <br />1999, the clerk received a letter from Police candidate Deucher requesting a hearing be <br />set, as he felt his name was removed from the Police Entry level list unjustly. The clerk <br />contacted the Chairman of the bhatdand was directed to set up a hearing he best date for the hearing to take place within <br />be <br />day requirement. It was found <br />October 4, 1999, at 7:00 PM. The Commissioner will need to make a motion on whether <br />or not they would like the hearing to take place on October 4, 1999, at 7:OOpm or not. <br />There was discussion regarding the 30 -day requirement and the amount of time Mr. <br />Deucher would be notified of the hearing date. The clerk indicated that she could deliver <br />the Letter to Mr. Deucher's home the next day. The Commissioners indicated that they <br />thought it would be a good idea for the clerk to deliver 1t e letter <br />r. eu h1 . not home and <br />Deuchers home. <br />Mr. Thomay commented that there could be a problem <br />never went to the post office to pick up the letter. Mr. Cummings directed the clerk to <br />take two copies of the letter to Mr. Deucher's home and have someone from the house <br />sign both copies and for the clerk to sign both copies. Mr. <br />Thomay commented that he thought the Commission could set the date as October 4, <br />1999, as long as the notice is delivered as soon as possible. The Clerk questioned if the <br />Commissioners wanted the October 4, 1999 date to remain. Mr. Zolar indicated that she <br />would not be able to make a hearing the following Monday as she had prior engagements. <br />Mr. Cummings indicated that the Police Chief was requesting Mr. Deucher be removed <br />for failing the background check. The reason Mr. Deucher failed the background was he <br />failed to set up a date for his background check within a reasonable time period. <br />
