Credit shall be awarded based on the evaluation of the promotional applicants by his/her <br />supervisor within six months of the scheduled promotional examination. <br />RULE IV <br />SCORING - PROTESTS <br />AND/OR <br />INSPECTION OF EXAMINATIONPAPERS <br />Section 1: Grading, Posting of Ranking and Notification; <br />The written examination papers of each candidate shall be graded by an outside scoring <br />company. The passing score for the examination shall be determined by the Commission <br />prior to the identification of the candidates. <br />a. Each candidate shall be notified by mail as to the grade achieved. All rules and regulations <br />regarding the process for examination protest and the inspection of examination papers, if <br />any shall be included with the notice of grade, if any, <br />b. A ranked list for Entry -Level and promotional exams shall be posted in the Civil Service <br />Office. <br />Section 2: Protest and Inspection Procedure: <br />After such notice of grade has been received, each candidate in a promotional examination <br />shall have the right to protest the grade and/or inspect the examination papers, in <br />accordance with the Ohio Revised Code. The candidate shall have the right to support <br />his/her protest with the applicable provisions of the Ohio Revised Code and or by <br />materials, which are pertinent as determined by the Commission. <br />Commission members shall give consideration to all examination protests and inspection <br />requests. The Commission shall make such changes as are warranted. <br />Section 3: Tie Score Entry -Level: <br />In the event two or more applicants receive the same mark in an Entry -Level <br />examination, the order in which their names shall be placed on the eligible list shall be <br />determined in accordance with the following priorities listed in descending order: <br />a. Veteran over non -veteran. <br />b. Priority in time of filing the application with the Commission (stamped received time <br />and date on application packet). <br />c. Earliest time recorded for the completion of written test. <br />d. Date of signature of application. <br />e.
