01 Annual Report Board of Building Code Appeals - 1960 Regular Meeting May 7, 1960 - Continued Discussion, with Mayor Gareau in attendance, introducing the possibility of controlling architecture and design of commercial and residential buildings in the City of North Olmsted. Discussion relative to the adoption of the Regional Building Code governing all construction in the City of North Olmsted. Regular Meeting June 11, 1960: The request of Mr. Steve Lennert, Decker Road, for assistance in solving drainage and questionable workmanship on a new home he had recently purchased to be inspected, and a determination made by the Board. Discussion ensued regarding the quality of building materials for future construction and the proper installation of swimming pools. Special Meeting & Hearing June 15, 1960 - 5:30 P.M. To hear the appeal of Stephen Papp, and eighteen other residents of Decker Road to revoke building permit denied by the Building Code Appeals. Donald Eaton represented the builder Richard Eaton. Regular Meeting July 9, 1960: Request of Steve Lennert of Decker Road was followed by an inspec- tion and conditions are being corrected. The recommendations of the Board regarding the use of cast iron sewer work in concrete slab dwellings, with leaded joints to extend three (3) ft. beyond buildings to be presented to the Council for approval. Discussion ensued relative to architectural designs for future buildings, rules and regulations for installation of house sewers for sanitary sewer connections, fees to be charged, etc. The Council of the City of North Olmsted to be notified of the Board's recommendation that the Regional Building Code prepared by the Regional Planning Commission be adopted as soon as possible. Regular Meeting July 30, 1960: Further discussion regarding swimming pool installations, the use of cast iron sewers under slab dwellings, and the recommendations to Council by letter July 13, 1960 pertaining to the adoption of the Regional Building Code. Regular Meeting September 10, 1960: Recommendation approved for a joint meeting with City Officials of North Olmsted be held quarterly. Approved a recommendation for an Architectural Board of Review to be presented to the Mayor and the Chairman of the Planning Commission for consideration. Page 2.
