Applications were due Friday <br />the 15'', with 5 vendors confirmed and 5 more that will be sending in applications. Jackie said <br />her ongoing email issues may have been detrimental to vendor outreach. It was agreed by all that <br />another round of outreach will garner a solid crop of market vendors. Stephanie has not heard <br />back from the St. Edwards Trash Talkers but can confirm that Friendship APL plans on <br />attending. James will send her all insurance requirements. Leah shared that Olmsted Performing <br />Arts is unable to volunteer any kids as roaming performers this year. Wilma will reach out to her <br />Baldwin Wallace University contact to see about finding new performer volunteers. <br />James explained the price change for Our Zoo to You based upon the insurance requirements, <br />which increased from $425 to $575 for their services. He also provided a brief explanation about <br />insurance and vendor contracting requirements, with a more detailed conversation to come at the <br />April meeting. Wilma confirmed that student volunteers will not require insurance coverage. <br />Keith confirmed that the Bubble Lady and Professor Zap are under the same contractor. Jackie <br />asked if food trucks require any special approval within the city. James always notifies the Safety <br />Department, so that they are aware. Victor Samalot was approved as the musical entertainment <br />for $300. It was agreed by all the results of any online vote should be shared immediately by the <br />member conducting the poll and shared at the next in-person meeting. Stephanie is working with <br />the event yard sign manufacturer to get the final price including all shipping and handling. It was <br />agreed by all that the sign may be purchased if the final cost is $125 or under. Sue will <br />coordinate with Leah and James regarding Girl Scout volunteer help. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />Holiday Decorations <br />Wilma said Community Council sets aside funds for park improvements every year, which could <br />include park decorations. The group discussed the idea of a festive vehicle decoration, where the <br />Fleet Department would temporarily stage a vintage vehicle or two along Lorain to be decorated <br />with holiday trimmings and serve as a photo prop. James shared that the NOMBL bus is not a <br />possibility due its fragile state, but he will check with the Fleet Manager to request vehicle <br />images. Annie broached the idea for "North Olmsted Christmas Story" and "Hometown <br />Holiday" themes that would tap into nostalgia from decades past, whether it be old items, <br />pictures or music. Wilma mentioned the idea of populating the park with nutcrackers to <br />accomplish a winter -wonderland theme throughout the park. Keith suggested purchasing a large <br />programmable LED Christmas tree for along Lorain Road. It was agreed by all that these ideas <br />would be honed leading up to the April meeting so that a final theme can be voted on. <br />Gateways Plan and City Beautification Event <br />Leah and James updated the group on the progress of the Kiwanis land donation for the purposes <br />of creating a pocket park as part of the city's Gateways Plan. Keith shared his enthusiasm for the <br />project, as the selected area is heavily trafficked and would benefit from an activated space for <br />pedestrians, cyclists, residents and passersby to enjoy curated green space and benches. It was <br />unanimously agreed that this project would serve as a beautification effort in the short-term as <br />
