Ralph Mackey. Su>ie Pallon <br />Staff: Law Director Michael Gareau_ Jr._ Building Coordinator Katie Seclec. CitN Planner Nahid <br />Parsipour. Administrative Assistant Kristine Jones. <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Mr. MackeN moved, seconded by Mr. Rahm, to approve the Building & Zoning Board of <br />Appeals minutes of Ma} 2, 2022 and .lune 6, 2022, motion passed 4-0. <br />RESIDENTIAL APPEALS AND REQUESTS <br />22-21930; Gerald Pierce; 25012 Rainbow Drivc, Olmsted Township- backyard is in North <br />Olmsted <br />Representative: Gerald and Linda Pierce, owners <br />Proposal consists of a new storage building. Properts is zoned A -One FumilN Residence. <br />1. A variance for an accessory structure use (storage building) prior to construction of a <br />dwelling: code docs not allow. Section 113.02 <br />_. A 900 sq. ft- variance lox the size of a storage building: code allows i00 sq. ft.: applicant <br />shows 1300 sq. II.. Section 11 ',?M2 (C 1131. <br />A 4 It. variance for maximum building height: code permits 14 ft., applicant shows 18 ft. <br />Section 1131.02 (C )(2) <br />Note Proposed Storage Building is 30 ft s 40 It. s 18 It. hi, -,h. Lot size is 51272 sq. (1.2 acres) <br />Ms. Pierce would like Io replace the esisting shed and replace it with a new storage building. <br />She explained that their home is small and they lack storage and closet spaces lite propertN is <br />unique because the (tont of the house is located in Olmsted Township and the back of the home <br />is located in North Olmsted. the back of the hone is surrounded by woods. I hey do have a two <br />car garage however: half of the garage is used to store items from inside the house as %%ell as <br />lawn items. I he proposed garage would allow them to store both vehicles in the garage and he <br />able to store outdoor patio furniture, lawnmower and snow blower in the building. <br />Mr. Mackey stated that this request is unique since the home is located in two different <br />jurisdictions and there is a need for the eslm storage. <br />Ms. Patton stated that the applicants did a great job sharing their need for extra space and there <br />really isn't another way to achieve their goal without a variance. Her only concern %%as the <br />substantial size of the request. Mr. Papono agreed with Ms. Patton s concerns over the size of <br />the variance request.
