There is a Lieutenant's vacancy that will be opened in a week and
a Sergeant will be promoted to Lieutenant. That will open up a Sergeant's vacancy immediately;
then another Sergeant will be retiring March 3rd. After March 3`d, those 2 candidates will be
promoted and then the list will be exhausted. With the upcoming Sergeant retirement in July, that
leaves a vacant position. The Administration will need to start the promotional testing process; give
eligible candidates time to study for the written portion of the examination. Once the candidates
take the written test, the results will be sent to the Commission, which will be certified; then the top
passing candidates will go on to the assessment. The Commission will need to determine the
passing score, weight the written and oral portion, and how many will move on to the oral
assessment.
Motion by Commissioner Flannery, seconded by Commissioner Fratini to accept the 2023
Promotional Police Sergeant calendar as submitted.
Motion passed unanimously.
Motion by Commissioner Cotofan, seconded by Commissioner Flannery to weight the Promotional
Police Sergeant examination as 35% written and 65% oral.
Motion passed unanimously.
Motion by Commissioner Cotofan, seconded by Commissioner Flannery to set the passing score at
75%.
Motion passed unanimously.
Motion by Commissioner Flannery, seconded by Commissioner Fratini to accept the top six
candidates with passing scores to move on to the oral assessment.
