The structure was built without a
permit and was discovered during a fence inspection by the zoning inspector.
Mr. Halun requested permission to keep an arbor he built in his front yard without obtaining the
necessary permits. The arbor was a reproduction of a historic structure from the Hathaway
Brown in Shaker Heights, which he had built based on a picture due to his work there. He considered using stain to
prevent chipping and peeling. The construction took him about two to three weeks. working a
few hours daily.
Mr. Kovach moved to approve 23-25609: Matt Halun: 23818 Mastick Road: seconded by Ms.
Patton.
Motion Passed: 4-0
23-25657; Harry Skafidas; 27060 Butternut Ridge Road - TABLED
Mr. Mackey moved to table 23-25657; Harry Skafidas: 27060 Butternut Ridge Road: seconded
by Mr. Kovach.
