9
Lieutenant Barrett:
I'm sorry, I don't mean to interrupt you, but you said.
Asst. Law Director O'Malley:
Hold on, the question was finally put. How do you account for the 16 -point margin?
Lieutenant Barrett:
I'm sorry, go ahead.
Asst. Law Director O'Malley:
And I think he's trying to answer it. And I want the record to reflect that he's referring to some
documents that may or may not already be part of the record. But please, doctor, answer the
question.
Lieutenant Barrett:
Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt you, sir.
Dr. Borodkin:
No, that's okay. We talked about, or you mentioned, you know, answering questions the same. And
I'm just going to read this one just, I think, for clarity.
On this, in November 2024, for example, you answered, in terms of your current position, just what
do you most enjoy? You answered leadership. Back in a year before, in 2023, what do you most
enjoy?
I enjoy being able to share experiences, training people, watching them excel, talking with and
getting to know people, overseeing people's work and providing them guidance when needed,
answering questions they may have, being part of the decision-making process with upper
management, helping the chief solve problems, create review policy, and finding new ways to
improve the department. That's not the simplest form of answer.
That's not the same as the one word answer.
Lieutenant Barrett:
Is that all I bad? Was that a one -word answer, sir?
Dr. Borodkin:
Yes
Asst. Law Director O'Malley:
For clarification of the record, doctor, are you referring to a report that was done, your assessment
of the appellant, Dan Barrett? Were you reading from this document that's part of the Civil Service
Commission's packet?
Dr. Borodkin:
No, I am not. I am reading from the actual document that was part of the assessment battery that Lt.
Barrett completed.
So that was his actual response.
Lieutenant Barrett:
What question number was that, sir? That I just answered leadership?
