Dr. Borodkin:
I believe that may be in the civil service packet.. Very briefly, we meet with the city to have a
discussion of what we would call success criteria. After that is done, candidates take an online
assessment battery, including a questionnaire that we've referenced, a critical thinking test, a
personality index, a group view leadership 2 assessment.
The assessor then reviews all of that information, and after that, there is a two-part interview,
structured interview questions, then follow-ups on either scores or things the person wrote in the
survey, and then after the interview component, the candidate receives feedback on their quick view
leadership scores. Not numbers, but what did they emphasize, least emphasize, etc. After that is
done, the reports are written.
Captain Angel Walling:
Thank you.
Dr. Borodkin:
Yes.
Captain Angel Walling:
About how many questions, I know there are different parts to there, but for example, how many
questions in each section? It's pretty extensive, is my point for this.
Dr. Borodkin:
Yeah. I mean, like I said, in the questionnaire itself, there's probably 50 to 55 sense completion
items. There are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 short answer questions.
There is a life and work grading exercise with approximately 14 ones to choose from. There's
another probably that goes through the various job history components. And then the quick view
leadership probably has, I think, 140 or 180 pairs of items.
Plus the personality index would have approximately under 60 questions. And critical thinking test
has 40 questions.
Captain Angel Walling:
Thank you, sir. So, out of all of that, 140 pairs of items that you're questioning, 50 to 55 sentence
completions.
How is it possible to take those exact answers again? If somebody takes a test in 2023 and they take
the test again in 2024, is it even possible to have the exact same answers for all of that test?
Dr. Borodkin:
No. And in fact, the scores, the actual results from the quick view leadership assessment and the
critical thinking test would show that they could not be the same answers because different scores
arose.
Jennifer Davenport:
Thank you.
Dr. Borodkin:
Yes.
Lieutenant Barrett:
Madam Chair, may I ask a follow-up question?
