Anybody who did on our staff would be fired. We work with over 250 agencies. No one is locked in
to any contract.
They do it because of the work we've done, the trust we've established, and the training that every
single assessor has done. No one at PRADCO does anything independently until they have shown
competence over and over again. So, I just want to speak to the strictness of the process, the care
involved in doing it right, as well as the empathy for the candidates.
So, the process is one that will always be judged and should be judged, but we would stand behind
our results. That is all.
Lieutenant Barrett:
Thank you. I think I've made my point clear of what my concerns are in the one section. It just
doesn't seem plausible to have a 16 -point difference.
As Captain Walling has said, if the questions were the same, the scores would be the same. She just
said it in her closing argument. Dr. Borodkin also admits that it's subjective based on the person that
we're interviewing with. And it is possible to have two different people having two different
outcomes. But with the same questions, there should not be a 16 -point difference. And that is my
concern in just one section of this test.
You heard what I had to say. You had the little PowerPoint I put. You know my concerns.
And I asked the Commission to review what I've said. And I know you'll take it seriously and come
up with an answer. And I thank. everyone in the room for your time and patience.
Thank you.
Commissioner Flannery:
Thank you. And just be aware, we do tale it really serious and we will have lots I'm sure to discuss
Commissioner Cotofan:
Just I guess a further clarification question for you. So the questions that exist to Mr. Barrett's point
are you could ask many questions but there's sub -questions within those questions, right? So you
say you have 10 questions in your test but then there's all these different factors and components.
So the question could lead into say another 10 questions related to this behavior, this 2 out of 5. So
there's a very strong possibility that yes, you may have answered the question. The initial set of
questions are the exact same but all your sub -questions have a difference in score from 2 years ago
to now.
Dr. Borodkin:
The key differences are and I would separate it into 2 things.
The questions can be the same but the answers weren't. So if the answers are not the same, I would
not expect the same result even if I could ask you how tall you are. You're 5'10".
Next time you say you're 62". The question is the same but the answer is different and what we go
by is the answer.
Commissioner Flannery:
Mr. O'Malley, do you have anything further?
Asst. Law Director O'Malley:
