noting its positive impact, especially on children. A meeting with Great Northern Mall <br />management is planned to discuss displaying the artwork. Additional birch panels will be ordered <br />for new submissions, and no vandalism has occurred. A broadcast email will update everyone on <br />the mall meeting, including whether to split the installation into two. The project continues to <br />foster strong community engagement. <br />- Inauguration Reception for Artists at North Olmsted Public Library <br />The inauguration reception for the artists was held at the North Olmsted Public Library on January <br />25th, where the artwork was celebrated and acknowledged for its positive impact, particularly for <br />children. Further efforts are planned to engage the community, with an upcoming discussion on <br />the potential for artwork display at Great Northern Mall. <br />- Meeting on Collaborative Art Showcase for After -School Programs <br />A meeting was held to discuss a collaborative effort with the local library to showcase artwork <br />from after -school programs. A soiree was planned for May 27th to engage children in the arts, <br />helping boost their self-esteem. The board moved forward with this idea. Additionally, the chair <br />took on the responsibility for the underpass public art project and discussed logistical changes for <br />future meetings, particularly the need for better audiovisual capabilities. The idea of relocating <br />meetings was also considered. There was a mention of an annual orientation session for Arts <br />Commission officers, which had not been conducted yet. Lastly, the possibility of the current chair <br />continuing for another year was discussed, with a tradition -of holding elections for the board <br />leadership being brought up. <br />COMMISSION ORGANIZATION <br />Elect Chair and Vice Chair <br />A discussion took place about the election process within the commission. <br />Mr. Behrendt moved, seconded by Ms. Kershner, to nominate Mr. Boulton for Chair and <br />Mr. Mallett for Vice Chair, motion passed 6-0. <br />REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Behrend moved, seconded by Ms. Kershner, to approve the December 17, 2024 Arts <br />Commission minutes. The motion was approved 6-0. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Mayor's Art Show <br />
