? <br />.? <br />d. All tow truclc components are to be maintained in good condition at all <br />times. <br />e. Each tow truclc shall be equipped with a permanently mounted flashing, <br />oscillating or rotating amber light so that it can be seen in a11 clirections. <br />f. Each tow truclc shall be equipped with a fire extinguisher, road flares, <br />a shovel, bT00211, small hand tools, pry blrs and any other miscellaneous <br />equipment need to safely tow a vehicle. <br />g. Each tow truclc shall have its company name clearly displayed on both <br />sides of the truclc. <br />B. BASE OF OPERATIONS AND STOR.AGE FACILITIES <br />1. The base of operations shall be inaintained out of a commercial style building in <br />an area zoned for such use. <br />2. The towing company shall maintain a suitable storage facility with at least a <br />six (6) foot commercial or industrial grade feilce or wall and must have a loclcing <br />gate. The area will be lcept secured at all times unless attended by a towing <br />company agent or employee. The area shall be suitably lighted and shall have a <br />posted sign indicating the name of tl-ie towing coinpany. If the storage facility is <br />not located within the City of North Olmsted then it must be located within five <br />(5) miles of the North Olmsted Police Departinent. <br />3. The storage facility must be made available to the North Olmsted Police <br />Depa.rtment 24 hours a day for inspection and release of vehicles. <br />C. RULES GOVERNING THE TOWING AGENCY AND ITS EMPLOYEES <br />1. The towing agency shall comply with all laws and ordinances that regulate tow <br />units and impoundnlent, towing, storage, selling or junlcing of vehicles. <br />2. Tow operators shall abide by the decisions of police officers and shall cooperate <br />ii1 removing hazards, illegally parlced vehicles, and iil impounding vehicles. <br />The towing agency shall be responsible for acts committed or omitted by <br />employees while they are on duty. No person shall act as a tow truclc operator <br />until he or slie has beeil properly trained. Towing agency employees shall ilot <br />attempt to obtain a contract for motor vehicle repairs while engaging in towing <br />operations. <br />4. The towing agency must be equipped with phones to receive police calls and each <br />tow vehicle shall have the capability of two-way radio communications with the <br />agency's dispatch center. <br />
