<br />5. The towing agency is responsible to protect impounded vehicles uniil fihe vehicles <br />have either been released to the proper person, or disposed of as authorized by <br />law. Vehicles impounded at the direction of the North Olmsted Division of Police <br />shall be stored in lots approved by the Chief of Police or his designee and not <br />moved fi•om said lot until released, junlced or title transferred to the towing <br />agency. <br />6. The towing agency is responsible For the safelceeping of any articles left in <br />impounded vehicles. <br />The towing agency shall permit the owiier and/or legal representative the right <br />to inspect a stored vehicle prior to release and allow the owner and/or legal <br />representative to remove ownership, licensing and other personal papers fi•om <br />the vehicle. The towing agency may grant the release of other personal effects <br />from the vehicle after receiving authorization fi•om the North Olmsted Division <br />of Police. <br />8. The North Olmsted Division of Police must provide a written release to the <br />towing agency prior to individuals claiming impounded vehicles. This release <br />must be presented to the towing agency for final release of the vehicle and <br />payinent of towing and storage fees prior to the pai-ty claiming the vehicle. <br />9. The towing agency shall maintain and lceep in full force and affect a policy of <br />public liability insurance issued by an insurance company that is authorized and <br />licensed to do business in the State of Ohio. Such policy shall be in the standard <br />form approved by the Ohio Department of Insurance and the coverage provision of <br />said policy shall insure the North Olmsted Police Depastment and the public from <br />loss or any damage that inay arise to any person or property by reason of towing or <br />wreclcer operations and storage. The limits of sucll policy shall be no less than <br />$250,000.00 for darnages arising out of bodily injury to or death of one person in <br />any one accident, and i1o less than $500,000.00 for damages arising out of bodily <br />iiljury or death of two or more persons itl one accident. The policy of insurance <br />shall provide a thirty (30) day notice to the North Olrnsted Police Department of <br />any material change or cancellation. A copy of such policy shall Ue provided to <br />the North Olnlsted Police Department upon request. <br />10. Except when called from outside the city limits and/or due to severe weather <br />related problems, the towing company is required to respond to all calls from the <br />North Olmsted Police Department within twenty (20) minutes of the tiizle being <br />summoned. <br />11. Nothing contained hereiiz shall prevent the Police Deplrtment from utilizing the <br />services of a better equipped or qualified towing conlpany ii1 emergency <br />situations. <br />
