(7) day advance notice of any schedule change. <br />Section 1A. The City may change the hours of the City Hall clerical employees ta work <br />eight (8) continuous hours between the hours of 7:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M., to allow the City to <br />have offices open for the public earlier ar later than currently provided. Said shift will first be <br />given to volunteers, then any vacancies will be filled with the least senior emplayee within the <br />department needed, <br />The City will post a notice for said shifts five (5) working days prior to any shift is to <br />begin. The notice shall state the date and time the shift will begin and the expected tluration. <br />This does not preclude employees from requesting staggering or irregular shifts which <br />would accomplish the needs of the City, as long as the Department Supervisor approves said <br />changes. <br />Section 2. The City may not reduce the weekly schedule of work for any department or <br />employee below forty (40) hours without agreement with the Union. This shall not prevent <br />reduction or cancellation of scheduled hours or work on a temporary basis if an emergency <br />occurs which is beyond the control of the City. <br />Section 3. Employees shal( be al(owed not less than sixty (60) uninterrupted minutes for <br />a scheduled lunch period daily except for other schedules mutually agreed upon with the Union. <br />The lunch period shall count as time worked for all purposes, including computation of <br />overtime. <br />Section 4, Employees will be paitl time and one-half (1 112) of their straight time rate of <br />pay for hours worked in excess of eight (8) in any one work day and time and one half (1 1/2) of <br />their straight time rate of pay for hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours in any one work <br />week. In the interest of Health and Safety, management may send an employee (Recreation <br />Department Maintenance Only) home before he completes his regular scheduletl shift when the <br />employee has workad the maximum consecutive emergency overtime hours. Such regularly <br />scheduled shift hours not worked shall be credited toward the forty (40) hour work week <br />requirement for any subsequent overtime worked.
