commencing at the start of the employee's scheduled shift. Hours worked on a day designated <br />as a holiday in Article 16 shall be paid at two times (2X) the employee's straight time rate of pay <br />for hours worked in addition to regular holiday pay in accordance with Article 16. Hours worked <br />on a Sunday shall be paid at two times (2X) the employee's straight time rate of pay, except for <br />employees regularly scheduled to work on that Sunday who will receive two times (2x) on their <br />second day off that week. Recreation Maintenance employees who work a shift other than a <br />Monday through Friday, shall have two consecutive days off each week. <br />Section 5. In determining whether an employee has worked in excess of forty (40) hours <br />in any work week, the following shall be considered as hours worked: <br />(a) Hours on -a holitlay which the employee did not work but for which he received pay pursuant to <br />Article 16 of this Agreement. <br />(b) Hours of vacation which the employee did not work but for which he received pay pursuant to <br />Arficle 15 of this Agreement. <br />(c) Hours of jury duty or witness duty which the employee did not work but for which he received <br />pay pursuant to Article 20 of the Agreement. <br />(d) Employees who are on vacation when a holiday occurs will not be cretlited with a vacation day <br />and will be paid for the holiday as per Article 16. <br />Section 6. The City shall endeavor, insofar as it may be practicable, to make a generally <br />equitable distribution of overtime work among employees within a classification and department <br />who are capable of performing the available work satisfactorily. Employees who are offered <br />overtirne, and for any reason refuse or fail to work, shall be credited with the overtime as if they <br />had worked, for the purpose of overtime distribution. In the event that a sufficient number of <br />employees are not available within the classifications for the overtime assignment, qualified <br />employees from a different classification and/or department shall be offered the overtime work <br />and the overtime opportunity sliall be distributed as equitably as possible. Seasonal or part-time <br />employees shall not work until all available full-time employees in that Department are offered <br />to work the available overtime. <br />ia <br />
