JOB DESCRIPTION <br />POSITION TITLE: PROPERTY MAINTENANCE INSPECTOR <br />RESPONSIBLE T0: BUILDING COMMISSIONERICITY ENGINEER <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: <br />Experience and/or basic knowledge of property maintenance and construction practices. Ability to <br />communicate with the public in an understanding antl tliplomatic manner. <br />DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: <br />1. Make field inspection of properly to determine compliance with Real Property Maintenance Code in the <br />following area: exterior structural deterioration, lack of maintenance appearance of premises and land <br />areas, disregard for proper maintenance of business areas and industrial property areas in storage of <br />equipment and supplies, existence of fire hazards and unsightly, unsanitary or unsafe conditions. <br />2. Investigation of sidewalk, apron and tree lawn portions of the right-of-way or conformance to applicable <br />City Ordinances and safety guidelines; including the supervision of snowlce removal ordinance and <br />regulations. <br />3. Programs involving house number ordinance. <br />4. Notification of appropriate parties regartling correction of violations or hazards found as a result of said <br />investigation. <br />5. Refer to proper inspection authority and observed violations of building structure, electrical, plumbing <br />and engineering standards. <br />6. Respond to general complaints received by the Building or Engineering Departments. Follow <br />established procedures in bringing about compliance with City Ordinance when a complaint is <br />validated. <br />7. Meeting with owners, contractors or general public regarding violations. <br />8. Inspection of corrective work and verification of compliance. <br />9. Maintaining files of inspections, correspontlences, violation notices and ather related documents. <br />10. Works independently, making own final decisions. <br />11.
