<br />Dear <br />The City of North Olmsted requests proposals for providing Plan Examination Services to the <br />Building Department. While the current position we aze seeking to fill is the back-up position, the <br />successful candidate will be considered when soliciting proposals for the primary examiner. <br />The Building Department currently processes on average 35 million dollars worth of commercial <br />building activity per year. This resulted in 258 actual plan exams in 2003 and 107 to date in 2004. <br />The resulting fees paid to examiners were in excess of $53,657.03 (2003). <br />Submittal Instructions <br />Proposals must be received at North Olmsted City Ha11 by 4:00 p.m. on <br />2004. Please submit five (5) copies of your proposal including the following information: <br />1. Egecutive Summarv <br />II. Qualifications <br />a. Firxn/agency profile. <br />b. Name of personnel working on the project including their role in the process. <br />c. Enclose copies of Class II Certifications. <br />d. Representative projects and references (three examples). <br />e. Submit names of projects that were designed by the applicant and constructed within <br />the City of North Olmsted limits for the previous five years. <br />III. Scooe of Services <br />T'he successful examiner shall work cooperatively with the City of North Olmsted Building <br />Deparhnent staff. Please submit a brief statemeut of the applicant's approach to <br />collaboration and communicating with the City. The examiner sha11 be responsible for <br />informing the Chief Building Official as to the compliance or non-compliance with the <br />OBOA Residential Building Code for structures of three family or less and the most current <br />codes designated by the State Board of Building Standards for structures larger than three <br />family and any related accessory struchues such as signs. Proposals sha11 include a brief <br />description of the work elements of the following: <br />a. Activities to be performed. <br />1. The architect sha11 perform plan reviews as defined by OBC 105.3.1.1 and <br />105.3.1.3. <br />2. The architect shall meet with the Building Official or City representative and <br />sha11, with him or alone as instructed, visit construction sites under jurisdictional <br />authority of the City and make whatever inspection reports, written or ora1, that <br />may be deemed necessary at the time. <br />b.
