who are capable of pertorming the available work satisfactorily. Employees who are offered <br />overtime and for any reason refuse or fail to work shall be credited with the overtime as if they <br />had worked, for the purpose of overtime distribution. An employee who works overtime will be <br />credited only with the number of hours he aetually worked. An employee who should have been <br />called up for overtime, but was missed, shall have deducted from his equalization the total <br />number of hours that were worked on that overtime call. In the event that a sufficient number of <br />employees are not available within the classification for the overtime assignrnent, qualified <br />employees from a different c(assificafion and/or department shalt be offered the overtime work <br />and the overtime opportunity shall be distributed as equitably as possible. The City shall <br />maintain lists by classification showing the overtime hours of each employee. All overtime hours <br />shall be recorded on a daily basis. The overtime lists shall be posted at each work locafion <br />(Service Garage, Plant and Systems) and shall be kept current on a daily basis. The Service <br />Mechanics and helpers will be subject to rotafing overtime. These overtime (ists shall be <br />reduced to zero and start again on July 1st of each year. Students, seasanal and part-time <br />employees will not work overtime until all regular employees have been offered overtime. <br />Section 3. During snow season, employees will be canvassed daily ta determine their <br />availability during the ensuing non-shift/overtime hours for snow removal or ice control duty. <br />However, employees who refuse overtime but ultimately would not have been called off the list <br />wil( not be re-credited w'tth overtime hours worked. The overtime seniority list will be followed <br />and those employees not interested in being called will not be contacted on a subsequent call <br />out unless emergency conditions develop. <br />Section 4. For the purpose of this section, there shal( be an exception to the distribution of <br />overtime in accordance with the overtime procedure above. <br />1.) The City may schedu(e an employee to work more than his regular scheduled <br />day not to exceed ten (10) hours in a week. <br />2.) Once an employee has worked ten (10) hours the City shall affer overtime in <br />strict accordance with the overtime provision above. <br />This section pertains to hold over only, all catl outs shall remain in strict compiiance with <br />13
