Treatment Plant. <br />ARTICLE 21 - VACATIONS <br />Section 1. Regu(ar fuil-time employses hired prior to July 1,1995 shall be granted vacation leave with full <br />pay as provided below. However, vacation carry-over is limited as set forth in Section 2 below. Pay in lieu <br />of vacation is limited to conditions as set forth. <br />One through four years <br />Five fihrough nine years <br />Ten through fourteen years <br />Fifteen through twenty years <br />Twenty-one years through infinity <br />- 2 calendar weeks <br />- 3 calendar weeks <br />- 4 calendar weeks <br />- 5 calendar weeks <br />- 6 calendar weeks <br />Section 2. An employee shall become eligib(e for vacation leave on his anniversary date and vacation <br />leave shall be taken by the empfoyee within twelve (12) months thereafter. However, so long as an <br />emp(oyee uses at ieast five (5) uninterrupted days of vacation each year, the smployee shall be permitted <br />with prior approval ta carry over or to sell back any amount of vacation which does not exceed the amount <br />earned in the prior year. Employees shall have an option to use up to one week of accumulated vacation <br />time in'/2 day increments. <br />Section 3. If an employee is terminated (voluntarily or involuntarily) prior to taking his vacation and has <br />completed one (1) year of employment with the City, he shall receive the prorated portion of any accrued <br />but unused vacation at the time of separation. In case of death of an employee, the unused vacation leave <br />shall be paid to the estate. <br />(a) If a day recognized as a holiday by the terms of this Agreement falls within an employee's <br />vacation leave, the employee shall not be credited with a vacation day, and will be paid for <br />the ho(iday at the straight time rate. <br />(b) An employee may have the option of using personal days as days of extended vacation <br />with prior approval of his department head. <br />(c) An employee may have the option of using a{I but one week of his vacation in increments <br />of less than one week; for example, one or finro days at a time. An employee will give the <br />supervisar at least forty-eight (48) hours advance notice in writing. !n an emergency <br />situation verbal cornmunication with the supervisor is appropriate and may justify waiving <br />advance notification. <br />Section 4. Regular full-time employees hired after July 1,1995 shall be granted vacation at a rate of pay <br />23
