Easter will receive compensatory time off. <br />Section 3. In addition to the abave holidays, a regular fuil-time employee shali be entitled to observed two <br />(2) personal days as a holiday with pay in each of the years (July 1 through June 30) covered by the terms <br />of this Agreement. The personal days shall be scheduled by mutual agreement beiween the smployee <br />and his supervisor. Personal Days may be scheduled in one half (1/2) day increments. <br />Sectian 4. Prior to July 1, 2004, if an employee does not use sick leave time for any 6 month period, from <br />his last sick day, he shall receive 20 hours personal time off or, at his option, the cash equivalent of 20 <br />hours. Such bonus days may be taken at a time mutually agreeable to the City and the employee. Such <br />bonus days must be taken within one (1) year of accrual. Up to one absence per year for attending a <br />funeral as provided in Article 15 may be used without affecting eligibility for bonus days. <br />Effective July 1, 2004, if an employee does not use sick leave time for any ca(endar quarter <br />(i.e,, Jan-Mar, Apr-Jun, Jul-Sep, or Oct-Dec), he shall receive eight (8) hours off or at his option the <br />cash equivalent of eight (8) hours, for each such calendar quarter. In addition, if an employee does <br />not use sick leave time for any ca(endar half (i.e., Jan-Jun, or Jul-Dec), he sha!l recsive an additional <br />eight (8) hours off or af his option the cash equivalent of eight (8) hours, far each such calendar hatf. <br />(This provision shall be construed so that employees may receive no more than a maximum of forty- <br />eight (48) hours each calendar year.) Such bonus days may be taken at a time mutually agreeab(e fio <br />the City and the employee. Such bonus days must be taken within one year of accrual. Up to one <br />absence per year for attending a funeral as provided in Article 42 may be used without affecting <br />eligibility for bonus days. <br />In order to transition from the pre-July 1, 2004, perfect attendance program to the post-June 30, <br />2004 perfect attendance program, employees who, on June 30, 2004 were in the process of earning a <br />perfect attendance bonus under the pre-July 1, 2004, program, shall receive a pro-rated bonus under the <br />first paragraph of this section, calculated on months of perfect attendance between January 1, 2004 and <br />June 30, 2004, rounded down to the nsarest month, e.g., four and one-half (4'/Z) months as of June 30, <br />2004 equals four (4) months of bonus earned. <br />25
