EXHIBtT B 4 <br />JOB CLASSIFICATION MECHANIC <br />RESPONSIBLE TO FLEET <br />MANAGER <br />CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES OF THE CLASSIFICATlON: <br />Employees within this job classification are required to service, repair, overhaul and <br />maintain gasoline and diesel equipment used by the City. <br />Employees within the job classification Mechanic shall repair, service, overhaul and <br />maintain gasoline and diesel equipment, including but not limited to automobiles, trucks <br />with a GVW of more than 26,000 pounds, trucks with a GVW of less than 26,000 <br />pounds, bulldozers, tractors, backhoes, front-end loaders and other types of an road and <br />off road equipment <br />• Employees within the jab classification Mechanic shall be required to perFarm welding, <br />some body work and spray-painting af vehicles and equipment as required. <br />• Employees within the job classification Mechanic sha(I work under limited general <br />supervision and is responsible for the organization of his work assignments with <br />instructions available frorn the foreman for out of the ordinary situations and problems. <br />• Employees within the job classification Mechanic shall perform other duties as assigned, <br />within the general character and scope of the duties described above. <br />• Employees shall be cequired to maintain a valid commercial drivers license at all times. <br />52 <br />
