EXHIBIT B 8 <br />JOB CLASSIFfCATfON MAINTENANCE MECHANIC <br />RESPONSIBLE TO MAINTENANCE FOREMAN <br />CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES OF THE CLASSiFICATION: <br />This is skilled work in the construction, maintenance and repair of inechanical equipment, rnachinery, <br />apparatus and facilities at the North Olmsted Wastewater Treatment Plant and Wastewater pumping <br />stations. <br />? The job classification Maintenance Mechanic, involves responsibility by the employee for the <br />performance of a variety of repairs and maintenance tasks in maintaining the efficient and effective <br />operation of pumping stations and the Wastewater Treatment Plant. <br />Empfoyees within the job classificafion Maintenance Mechanic shall be able to use a considerable <br />variety of bench, hand and machine tools requiring accuracy and precision. Assignments are made to <br />specific jobs and generally include sketches, blueprints, oral and written instructions. <br />Work pertormed by employees within the job classification Maintenance Mechanic is usually performed <br />in coopera#ion with, or under supervision, of an Assistant Superinfendent who gives detailed assistance <br />on difficult and/or complex jobs; however, more routine work is performed with considerable <br />independence. Supervision by a Maintenance Mechanic may be exercised over Mechanic Helpers in <br />specific maintenance and repair activities. <br />• Employees within the job classification Maintenance Mechanic shall be required to operate machine <br />and hand toals in repairing defective parts of pumps, motors, valves, chemical feeders and other related <br />plant and pumping station mechanical equiprnent and recording devices of Wastewater Treatment Plant <br />and pumping stations. <br />Employees within the job classification Maintenance Mechanic, shall be required and capable of <br />replacing defective elements, lubricate bearings, repack valves and pumps, replace defective valves, <br />motors, pumps, controls and the like. <br />56 <br />
