(33). Should manning increase, the total minimum number of paramedics required would increase <br />by one (1) for every three (3) additional hires. <br />ARTICLE XIX <br />HEALTH BENEFITS <br />19.1 The employer shall provide eittier individual or family medical insurance coverage at the <br />Employea's option for each fu![-time Emp[oyee. The Emptoytr shatt have the option of seeking <br />atternate health insurance providers or pians and will attempt to affer at least two (2) different <br />plans. Basic hospitalization will be consistent with and similar to those plans offered on July l, <br />1995. Basic hospitalization will be that offered to all the Employees of the City of Nortb Olmsted. <br />The Employer has the right to negotiate co-payment and prescriprion drug rates with providers to <br />lower the cost to the Employer as well as the Employee. <br />19.2 Effective January 1, 2002 and through the duratioa of this a$reemeut, fiill-time Employee(s) <br />participating within either an individual or fasnily plan shalt contribute an amoiutt eqaal ta thirteen <br />percent (13%) of the plan premium or expected costs of such medical ptan and the Employer shalt <br />contribute eighty-seven (89%) pereent of such costs. The Employee contribution shall be withheld <br />via payro[1 deduction flot later than the first pay period each month. <br />19.3 The City will offer the Option 1 Plan in effect on July 1, 2001 for the duration of the contract. <br />Employees' participation in the Option 1 Plan is strictly voluntary to a11 eiigible employees. The <br />City shall offer in the Option i Plan for thirty (30) days, each Deeember of the contraci. <br />Employees who opt for the Option 1 Ptan shall be required to contribate an amount equat to 2% of <br />the plan premium or expected cost. <br />19.4 In conjunetion with participation wit6in a medical plan, the fuil-time Employee rnay suhscribe to <br />and participate in the following optional health benefit coverage(s): <br />1. Dental <br />2. Vision - Option Plan #1 (vision plan which was in effect August t, 1994) <br />33
