overtime pay for appearance at Rocky River Municipal Court. A minimum four (4) hours overtime <br />pay shall be paid for appearance at a Grand Jury, Common Pteas Court or 3uvenile Court. <br />27.2 The Employer shall graat leave with the Basic Hourly Rate of Pay plus Longevity to an Employee <br />for the period of time he is requ'ved to appear for jury duty. <br />273 The Employee may be required to work weekends while on jury duty. He shall not be required to <br />work 12 hours before jury duty or twelve houra after jury duty. <br />ARTICLE XXVIIi <br />CONTINUiNG EDUCATION <br />The Employer shall provide continuing education for those Employees who are required to recertify in <br />areas that require mandatory recertification for the Employee to maintain employment. Costs for <br />continuing education shatl be paid by the Employer and if said education requires the Employee to attend <br />ciasses above and beyond his Normal Work Schedule, he shall be paid Overtime Pay. The education must <br />be approved in advance by the Fire Chief or his designee. <br />ARTICLE -XXIX <br />EQUIPMENT AND GEAR <br />29.1 The Employer shall furnish and maintain at no cost to the Emptoyee all gloves, helmets, protective <br />clothiag and ather protective eynipment necessary to preserve and protect the safety and health of <br />the Employee as determiaed by the Fire Chief. <br />29.2 An Occupational Safety and Health Committee shall be establisbed and shall serve in an advisory <br />capacity to the Fire Chief. The committee shalt include the designated Fire Departcnent safety <br />officer, representatives of Fire Departinent management, and three members of the North Olmsted <br />Fire Deparunent, chosen by the Union, who have attained the rank of First Class or higher. The <br />cAmmittee shall also be permitted ta include other persons, to be appointed by the Fire Chief. <br />41
