investigator shall not be subjected to abusive or threatening langua.ge. No promise of reward <br />shall be made. <br />22.4 If the officer requests, he shall be given a brief period of time prior to questioning <br />to locate and review any written docuxnents he possesses regarding the event(s) being <br />investigated in order to fully prepare himself to accurately and completely respond to the <br />questioning. An investigating officer may accompany the member during his brief search and <br />review of documents. The officer sha.ll have a reasona.ble time period in which to obtain Iegal <br />counsel or a representative of the bargaining unit. <br />22.5 In the event an officer receives disciplinary action where an entry will be made in <br />the officer's file, the officer will be given a copy of the disciplinary action or reprimand. Written <br />reprimands will contain space for an officer's acknowledgement of receipt of said copy. In the <br />case of a criminal investigation, the City Law Director or the appropriate prosecutor's office <br />shall make any Iegal determination regarding furnishing a copy of the officer's statement to the <br />officer or his representative. <br />22.6 Any intenogation, questioning or interviewing of an officer will be conducted at <br />hours reasonable related to his shift, preferable during his working hours. Interrogation sessions <br />shatl be for reasonable periods of time with time allotted for attending to physical necessities. <br />The officer under interrogation and the investigator shall not be subjected to abusive or <br />threatening language. No promise of reward shall be made. <br />22.7 At the request of either party, interviews, or portions thereof with an officer, <br />canducted during the course of an inquiry ma.y be tape recorded (audio). In the case of an <br />internal investigation, such interrogation shall be recorded by the police department at the <br />request of either party. A copy of the tape will be made available to the Union. <br />34
