Section 18: Lonnevitv (a) That, except as provided in paragraph (c) below, all full-time personnel listed <br />within this Ordinance who were hired by the City prior to January 1, 2005, having completed five (5) years of <br />full-time service as an employee of the City shall be paid an additional four percent (4%) of their base annual <br />salary thereafter as longevity increments until completion of their tenth (10th) year of full-time service; after <br />completion of their tenth (10th) year of full-time service, such personnel shall receive five percent (5%) of their <br />base annual salary thereafter as longevity increments until completion of their fifteenth (15th) year of full-time <br />service; after completion of their fifteenth (15th) year of full-time service, such personnel shall receive six <br />percent (6%) of their base annual salary thereafter as longevity increments until completion of their twentieth <br />(20th) year of full-time service; and after completion of their twentieth (20th) year of full-time service, such <br />personnel shall receive seven percent (7%) of their base annual salary thereafter as longevity increments for <br />so Iong as they continue to be full-time employees of the City. <br />(b) Effective January 1, 2009, except as provided in paragraph (c) below, all full-time personnel listed within <br />this Ordinance, having completed five (5) years of fuli-time continuous service, and receiving longevity <br />compensation under the percent of base pay as of January 1, 2009, shail continue to receive the fixed amount <br />on the base rate of pay in effect on January 1, 2009, until such time as the table below provides a greater <br />benefit, then the table will control. All full-time personnel listed within this Ordinance having completed five (5) <br />years of full-time continuous service as an employee of the City after January 1, 2009 shali be paid an <br />additional five hundred dollars ($500.00) as annual longevity increments thereafter until completion of their <br />tenth (10th) year of full-time service; after completion of their tenth (10th) year of full-time continuous service, <br />such personnel shall receive one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) as annual longevity increments thereafter until <br />completion of their fifteenth (15th) year of full-time continuous service; after completion of their fifteenth (15th) <br />year of full-time continous service, such personnel shall receive one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00) <br />as annual longevity increments thereafter until completion of their twentieth (20th) year of fu?I-time continuous <br />service; after completion of their twentieth (20th) year of full-time continous service, such personnel shall <br />receive two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) as annual longevity increments thereafter for so long as they <br />continue to be full-time employees of the City. <br />(c) Full-time personnel listed within this Ordinance hired after April 30, 2008 shall not be entitled to receive <br />longevity pay under either paragraph (a) or (b) above. Full-time elected officials shall not be entitled to receive <br />longevity pay under either paragraph (a) or (b) above for terms of office that begin on the 1 st day of January, <br />2010, or thereafter. <br />Section 19: Holidavs and Personal Davs That all full-time personnel listed within this Ordinance shall <br />receive the following holidays off, unless required to work by their supervisor or the Mayor in emergencies, <br />and shall receive their regular rate of pay: New Year's Day; Presidents' Day; one-half (1/2) day on Good <br />Friday; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Thanksgiving Day; one-half (1/2) day on Christmas <br />Eve; Christmas Day; and one-half (1/2) day on New Year's Eve Day. Employees hired between January 1st <br />and June 30th of any given year shall receive four (4) personal days upon their date of hire. <br />All full-time personnel listed within this Ordinance hired between July 1st and December 31st of any given year <br />shall receive two (2) personal days upon their date of hire. Personal days must be used before the end _f the <br />year in which they were earned and are not eligible for buy back. Following the first year of employment, <br />these employees will earn their personal days on January 1 st of each subsequent year. <br />Section 20: Vacation That all full-time personnel listed within this Ordinance shall be entitled to an annual <br />vacation in accordance with Section 161.11 of the Administrative Code. All previous service as an elected city <br />public official within the city shall be considered full-time for the purpose of calculating vacation and sick leave <br />upon retirement. <br />Section 21: Attendance Bonus Davs That all full-time personnel who do not use sick leave time for any <br />calendar quarter (i.e., Jan-Mar, Apr-Jun, Jul-Sep, or Oct-Dec), shall receive eight (8) hours of paid time off. In <br />addition, full-time personnel who do not use sick leave time for any calendar half (i.e., Jan-Jun, or Jul-Dec), <br />shall receive an additional eight (8) hours of paid time off for each such calendar half. (This provision shall be <br />construed so that employees may receive no more than a maximum of forty-eight (48) hours each calendar <br />year.) Such attendance bonus days may be taken at a time mutually agreeable to the City and the employee <br />and they must be taken within one year of the date they are earned. Up to one absence per year for attending <br />a funeral may be used without affecting eligibility for bonus days. <br />Page 7 of 8
