Proposed (1-23-08) <br />Amendments to Chapter 1145 (Limited Industry-Industrial Park District) <br />1145.01 DEFINITIONS. <br />As used in this Zoning Code certain terms are defined as follows: <br />(a) "Limited Industry-Industrial Park District", for the purposes of the Zoning Code, means <br />an industrial area which is controlled with respect to character of occupancy, <br />manufacturing processes, provision of offstreet parking and loading, location of <br />driveways, setbacks from residential boundary lines and from residential streets, and <br />treatment of such setback spaces so as to protect the residential character of adjacent <br />residential areas. <br />(b) "Industrial park" means an area within the Limited Industry-Industrial Park District <br />consisting of ten or more acres which shall be developed in accordance with a <br />development plan submitted to the Planning and Design Commission. <br />(c) "Recvcling collection center" means anv facilitv that is not a iunkvard, as that word <br />is currentlv defined in Chapter 4737 of the Ohio Revised Code, and in which <br />recoverable resources, such as newspapers, magazines, books, and other paper <br />products; glass; metal cans; plastics and other products, are collected, sorted and <br />temuorarilv stored urior to shipment for remanufacture into new materials. Such a <br />facilitv mav allow limited compacting or crushing of recvclable materials. <br />(d) "Recvcliny- facilitv" means anv facilitv that is not a iunkvard, as that word is <br />currentlv defined in Chapter 4737 of the Ohio Revised Code, and in which recoverab_le <br />resources, such as newspapers, magazines, books, and other paper products; glass; <br />metal cans; plastics and other products, are recovered, reused, rearocessed, and <br />treated to return such products to a condition in which thev mav again be used for <br />production. <br />1145.03 USES PERMITTED. <br />The following shall be permitted in a Limited Industry-Industrial Park District: <br />(a) Office Buildings. Offices include professional, financial, governmental, public utility, <br />administrative and sales except that no retail sales involving the exchange of inerchandise <br />shall be permitted. Medical offices are not permitted. <br />(b) Research Laboratories. Research laboratories include experimental, research and testing, <br />all types of basic and applied research of product design and development, including the <br />operation of small scale experimental and pilot operations for determining the feasibility <br />of new technology. <br />(c) Metal Production. Metal production includes metal cutting, stamping, electric, gas and <br />ultrasonic welding, grinding, machining and finishing, only in the production and/or <br />assembly of products such as: <br />(1) Automotive and aircraft parts; <br />(2) Electrical and electronic equipment and motors; <br />(3) Electrical appliances; <br />(4) Hardware, cutlery and kitchen utensils; <br />(5) Musical and scientific equipment; <br />(6) Medical, orthopedic and photographic instruments and equipment; <br />
