Ch. 1126 <br />Business district signs - see P. & Z. 1163.09 et seq. <br />1139.01 GENERAL RETAIL BUSINESS DISTRICT. <br />(a) Intent. For the purposes of the Zoning Code, General Retail Business <br />Districts are hereby established to meet the shopping, convenience and service needs of the <br />residents of the entire community and shall be established in a manner to protect adjacent <br />residential neighborhoods by regulating the types of business uses, which could create <br />hazards, noise, odors or other objectionable influences. <br />(b) Permitted Buildings and Uses. In a General Retail Business District, land <br />may be used and buildings may be designed, built, altered or used only for one or more of <br />the following permitted uses. <br />(1) Any use permitted in the least restrictive Residence District adjacent <br />to any part of such General Retail Business District subject to the <br />requirements of such Residence District. <br />(2) Single family cluster dwellings as regulated in Chapter 1136. <br />(3) Retail business. <br />A. The retail sale of baked goods, confectionery, dairy products, <br />delicatessen, fruits, vegetables, groceries, meats and <br />beverages; <br />B. The sale of dry goods and variety merchandise; <br />C. The sale of hardware, household appliances, television and <br />radio, paint, wallpaper, materials and objects for interior <br />decorating; <br />D. The sale of books, magazines, newspapers, tobacco products, <br />drugs, flowers, gifts, music, photographic equipment, <br />sporting goods and stationery; <br />2007 Replacement <br />
