shall meet with not inore than one eiilployee representative and one non-employee representative <br />of the FOP to discuss pending problems or issues of concern and to proinote a more harmonious <br />Labor/Mana?e?nent relationship. <br />24.02 An agenda will be furnished upon requesi of either party at least advance of the <br />scheduled ineetings with a lisi of the matters to be taken names of those FOP representatives <br />who will be attending. <br />24.03 It is further- agreed that if special Labar/Management ineetings have been requested, and <br />Inutually agreed upon, they shall be convened as soon as feasible. <br />ARTICLE XXV MISCELLANEOUS <br />25.01 Body Armor: The Einployer agrees to provide to all employees with body armor. Tl1e <br />Employer agrees to replace body armor at such tiine as the vests are no longer serviceable as <br />provided in the manufacturers specifications. ln the event the body armor is rendered <br />tulserviceable due to misuse or neglect by the employee, replacement shall be the responsibility <br />of the einployee. The Employer will pay up to six hundred ($600.00) dollars of the cost for such <br />vest. <br />ARTICLE XXVI COMMUNICABLE DISEASES <br />26.01 The parties hereto agree that the duties of the employees are such that said employees are <br />eaposed to disease as a result of their assigned duties. it is the intention of the parties to provide <br />to said employees, salary continuation benefits when an employee col7tracts an illness as herein <br />after specified. <br />26.02 In the event that a full tiine employee of the bargaining unit should become ill due to <br />contact with AIDS, HIV, Hepatitis, Tuberculosis or Meningitis and such illness has so <br />incapacitated the employee that he temporarily is unable to work, the Police Chief shall <br />investigate and determine whether the illness is work related. The Police Chief shall then <br />forward his finding to the Safety Director who shall determine the nature and extent of the illness <br />and how conh-acted, including cucuinstances thereo£ If after consideration of the totality of the <br />facts the Safety Director determines that said disease was contracted during employment and <br />mayrequire medical leave, the Safety Director shall authorize the full paylnent of the <br />employee's regular salary for a period of ninety (90) days. <br />26.03 If after ninety (90) days an illness still incapacitates the employee, the Safety Director <br />shall recominend to Council whether to continue their salary for a successive ninety (90) day <br />period or parts thereo£ Council shall forthwith review the matter and by a majority vote <br />determine whether the employee shall continue to receive full salary during recuperation. Ai1y <br />bargaining unit member who qualifies for benefits tulder this section shall be required to pay <br />over to the Employer any amount received from the Bureau of Workers' Compensation as <br />supplemental wages. Purfller, if at any time, the Employer determines on the basis of inedical <br />evidence that the employee is permanently disabled and will no longer be able to carry on his <br />19
